I hired Peter to guide me around Kunming for my second day of a six-day visit. We hiked up Xi Shan and planned to go to the Yunnan Ethnic Minorities village. But heavy rain led us to change plans and go to the Yunnan Provincial Museum and the Bird and Flower Market instead. Along the way, Peter negotiated with drivers, helped find food and coffee, and best of all, gave me tons of great coaching in Chinese, where a less committed guide would have insisted only on practicing their own English.
Peter is honest and committed to being an effective guide and is sensitive to the needs of his client. He will go the extra mile to research your needs or negotiate for you. He is who he says he is. Not everyone is.
