My name is Michelle Gong, and I am a long time resident of Beijing. I am a trained, licensed, independent tour guide offering tours of the city and other locations in China. I frequently take individuals and small groups to places like Xian to see the famous terra cotta army and other sights.

I specialize in working with individuals, small groups, and those who prefer not to take part in large, standardized tours.

To make your arrival as easy as possible I can arrange for airport greetings and transfers to local hotels as well as arrange for your hassle free departure from Beijing.

I like people to see the real China and Beijing, so I try to arrange tours that give you the opportunity to see locals and not just other tourists.

I do not take commissions from vendors, so I do not deliver you to factories for extended mandatory shopping. If you wish shopping assistance I will try to get you the best buys possible.

In addition to guiding personalized tours and translating I can also arrange for Tai Chi instruction, traditional massage, acupuncture, and other experiences.

My rate is 70rmb per hour for 1 or 2 people, or 500rmb per day, and 80rmb per hour for 3 or 4 people. For business visitors I can assist you with translation and getting around the city at 700rmb per day.



My tour guide license is registered by CITS Sports travel company, and to guarantee customer satisfaction my payment policy is to charge after the tour is finished. Customers need not worry that services paid for will not be delivered. I have traveled abroad many times, love different cultures, and do well with children, having a teen age son of my own.

VERY IMPORTANT: Most tour guides in China must supplement their income by taking guests to sales outlets offering kickbacks to the guide. My fees are slightly higher than many other guides, however, I do not include overpriced factories or other sales sites in my tours. I want you to see the real China, and if you do decide to make purchases, my job is to see you get the best value for the best price.
