On our recent trip to Harbin we hired Lucy as a guide for one day.  I contacted her by email and she responded quickly and enthusiastically.  It was very enjoyable to visit the sights with her, she is quite knowledgeable about the history of Harbin and the importance of the places we visited, and she also likes to inform her guests about culture and life in Northeast China.  I provided a list of the places we wanted to see, and she arranged them in a sensible order.  Lucy also gave us information on the sights we were gong to visit on our own.  In addition, when we found out that our hotel did not have a laundry service Lucy helped us locate one in the neighborhood and negotiated a lower price for us.

We highly recommend Lucy, she will take you to the places you choose (or suggest an itinerary) and provide information about them in excellent English.

I contacted Lucy to be a guide for my son and his girlfriend who were going up to Harbin for the Ice festival in January 2014. From the first moment I contacted her she was prompt, polite, helpful and honest. My son met with Lucy and she provided excellent help and advice for him during his stay in Harbin. She organised airport transfers, helped him check in to his hotel and made sure he visited all the important sites around Harbin city. She ensured he was well looked after, translated for him with the local people and also helped with bartering in the tourist spots. I could not speak highly enough of Lucy and how she looked after my son and his girlfriend. My son had a fabulous time in Harbin, and he said that it was Lucy who made it such an enjoyable and memorable time. I would highly recommend Lucy if you are visiting Harbin. Thank you Lucy. 

Lucy W was our tour guide on our recent visit to Harbin with my wife, her parents and our two children aged 3 and 6. Lucy organised a car and driver for our stay and met us at the airport using this car. She had worked out an excellent and comprehensive itinerary for us of the major attractions of Harbin and the Snow and Ice Festival. Also she was very thoughtful and came well prepared with extra scarves, mittens, tissues ,etc in case we we needed them. She was very accommodating of the children's needs and guided us to good restaurants. She not only told us a brief history of Harbin but also some interesting and funny anecdotes about the city. Most importantly she speaks excellent English. Lucy is very friendly and always did exactly what she said she was going to do. We could rely on Lucy 100% of the time we where in Harbin. We count Lucy as one of our friends and would not hesitate to recommend her services.

I visited Harbin in Jan. 2013 from the US with my 11 year old son and my 75 year old father-in-law.  My FIL speaks a bit of Mandarin so that helped us get around, but I really wanted to get a tour guide for our first day in Harbin to help us learn the ropes and to get us out to the main Ice Festival.  We booked Lucy for one day and it was one of the best decisions we made on our trip.  We learned a lot of local history on our tour and I didn't feel as bad about taking my son out of school to visit Harbin.  Lucy was very knowledgeable and was willing to tailor the level of detail to our party.  We went to St. Sophia and the central street early in the day and to the ice/snow parks at night.  Getting a taxi is Harbin can be very difficult and having Lucy to help us arrange transportation was very valuable.

Also we just enjoyed having Lucy as part of our group.  She was very pleasant to talk with and we all got to know each other pretty well during the course of the day.  We were sad to say good buy at the end of the day and we will certainly ask for her help when we return to Harbin again.  She also really help me and my son take care of my FIL.  He has a tendency to wonder off or to be a little too brave crossing the street in traffic.  Lucy stuck by his side the whole day and kept him out of trouble.  She watched over him like a daughter and he was happy to talk with her and learn more about current life in China.

Lucy helped us get a great start to our trip.  Overall Harbin far exceeded my expectations.  Not only were the snow and ice festivals great, but there were also a lot of great things for my son to do.  We enjoyed walking across the frozen river and there were lots of sledding runs and outdoor ice activities for both young and old.  I was surprised how vibrant the center of the city was despite the cold.  It seems like this could be a nice to place to visit in the summer also.  Please contact me if you have questions.

My husband and I visited Harbin recently. We were keen to find a local guide who would be able to assist us in maximising the sights and sounds over our short stay. We were SO HAPPY to have found Lucy.

Prior to arriving in Harbin, I had done some of my own research and planning of the trip, I had a clear idea of what we wanted to see but I soon realised that I would need some local knowledge and the help with the language.

I contacted Lucy via email prior to the trip and she was very informative and generous with the information and itinerary planning.  We had initially thought we would need Lucy for just a day, but am glad we decided to ask for her help for 2 whole days.

Harbin is a wonderful city but commuting around it can be difficult with a language barrier and time consuming especially in the harsh winter and if your stay is a short one.

If you have a short time in Harbin and want to see all the sights and learn about the history of the place, then Lucy is the person to have by your side ! Lucy planned an amazing itinerary for us and each day was spent to the max. with seeing and learning about the place. Lucy was very generous with her time and often insisted on staying with us until we were happy to call it a day. Her recommendations to food and things to do were spot on. She is a great communicator and her English is excellent. We had so much laughs together. We felt like we were seeing Harbin with a good friend rather than with a 'guide.'

Lucy also arranged for a private car for both days (at our request) and we were glad because our driver was excellent and the cost was extremely reasonable considering the dodgy taxi fares/traffic and waiting time for both days. Both Lucy and our diver were very accommodating and we can truly recommend them both to friends and family.

I've just come back from a wonderful holiday in Harbin (in the dead of winter!)

Lucy is amazing - she speaks English very well and is everything you want a guide to be - helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and has a sense of humour.

I was there for 3 days so she showed me all of the sights including the Siberian Tiger Park, Sun Island Snow Park and Ice and Snow World.  She is very accommodating as she waited for me in the cold with no complaints while I visited an attraction she did not come into with me.  She waited as she was worried I would not be able to get a taxi back to the city that evening.

She was always concerned for my welfare and ensuring I was warm enough in the -20 C degree temperatures during the day (the evenings were even colder!).  Lucy even provided with me extra gloves in case mine weren't warm enough.

She knows her city inside out, having grown up there, and a very good amabassador for a city with so much history crammed into the last 100 years.  Being a local she  will ensure you don't get ripped off by taxi drivers and will make sure you get a good table in a restaurant.

We ate lots of the local food (Russian and Chinese) together and Lucy is full of recommendations and suggestions of where to eat and shop.

We had a lot of laughs between the two of us over the three days and she certainly made my stay hassle free. Harbin is geared up for Chinese (Mandarin reading/speaking) tourists but not westerners so having a local at my side was great.
