We booked Alvin for 5 days last month to visit Lijiang and Shangri-la. Alvin was very professional, he was very knowledgeable about the attractions around, the best time of the day to visit them, the best spot to take photos and so on. On top of this he was really friendly, always anticipating our needs, proactively helping with everything, ice enjoyed having a chat to him. I found Alvin on the Synotrip website. I emailed him and he promptly replied with a quotation. I was impressed by his enthusiasm as we communicated by email. On our arrival, Alvin picked my family of 3 from Lijiang Airport and dropped us at Wangfu Hotel which I have booked online. He went out of his way to help coordinate the purchase of a phone card in the city and arranged the porter of the hotel to meet us at a designated pick up point (Dayan ancient town where the hotel is located is a car free zone). We spend the next 3 days with Alvin who drove us safely from Shangri La and back. Alvin speaks impeccable English. He is a native to Yunnan. He knows the region very well and has an in-depth knowledge of local cultures and history of the places we visited. Alvin is always ½ hour ahead of our appointed time, helped with our luggage and showed us places beyond our expectation, an example was the remote villages in Shangri La and the way of life there. I contacted Alvin trhough Synotrip, we where looking for a transfer from Lijiang airport to Shangrila for my husband, my son and myself. His answer was so quick and his english so good that i decided to ask him for a Budget for 8 days travelling through Yunnan, we where only looking for a driver since we had already booked the hotels . I had been asking in several agencies but what I was offered was a non English speaking driver at a fairly high price and with a percentage to pay in advance. With Alvin everything was nice from the first moment and the price he offered us was very reasonable and without having to pay in advance. We hired him and it was the best decision we could make. We have just returned and thanks to Alvin we have had a wonderful experience, we have travelled in a comfortable car and a good driver. In addition, Alvin is a great guide since he is from the area and knows everything perfectly. He is such a nice and open person that we have made a friend forever. If you are looking for a driver, or a guide or someone to arrange a tour of Yunnan, do not hesitate to hire Alvin, you will be delighted. Contacté con Alvin a través de Synotryp, estábamos buscando un chofer que nos llevara , a mi marido a mi hijo y a mi, del aeropuerto de Lijiang a Shangrila a un precio razonable, en vista de la rápida respuesta y su nivel de inglés, le pedí un presupuesto de 8 días para que nos trasladara de Lijiang a Shangrila y de vuelta hasta Dali, únicamente buscábamos chofer ya que teníamos los hoteles contratados por nuestra cuenta, había estado preguntando en varias agencias pero lo que me ofrecían era un chofer de habla no inglesa a un precio bastante elevado y con un porcentaje por adelantado. Con Alvin todo fue amabilidad desde el primer momento y el precio que nos pedía muy razonable y sin tener que hacer ningún adelanto. Lo contratamos y fue lo mejor decisión que pudimos tomar. Acabamos de regresar y gracias a Alvin hemos tenido una experiencia maravillosa, hemos viajado en un coche cómodo , un buen chofer, además Alvin es un guía estupendo ya que es de la zona y conoce todo perfectamente y hemos ganado un gran amigo. We booked Alvin as a tour guide for our first family trip to China and certainly highly recommend him. We booked him for 4 days not including airport pickup and we got so much more than we could ever expect . Through him we gained much understanding of the local culture and history of the people of Lijiang and Shangrila. We had a some idea of what we wanted to do and his recommendations on what to do , when had helped us to make the most of the weather that enables us to enjoy our sightseeing trips to different places to the Max. We wouldn’t have been able to do and see as much without him and at the same time enjoy a steady pace with no rush at all. He is very helpful and caring . We truly enjoyed him as our guide as he made it such a positive , memorable trip that was filled with lots of laughter. We are a family of 4 with 2 teenagers. We contacted Alvin to help us to see the highlights of Li Jiang and Shangri-la. Originally we only wanted a driver but luckily we got much more than that, he turned out to be an excellent tourguide. Beside the basic expectations of being friendly and accurate, Alvin gave us a real memorable stay with lots of insight into the local history and culture which made the trip far more complete. We contacted Alvin at short notice to show us around Lijiang for half a day. We were very impressed. Alvin has good command of English, is personable, affable, very helpful, and has a great sense of humour. Alvin kept us on track in regards to timing, showed us an excellent restaurant, and was very knowledgeable about Lijiang and Yunnan in general. Nothing was too much hassle and he even came to the train station to ensure all went smoothly when we departed. Should we return to Lijiang we wouldn't hesitate in contacting Alvin again. Read less
