About Me

1) Tour Guiding - Hong Kong, Macau

"I love my city, my home.

And I want you to experience how fascinating this city is."

I was born and grew up in a grassroot family in Hong Kong. Traveling had always been a dream for me when I was a kid. It was a dream because there was no way my family could afford it. I always thought the other side of the world must be so much nicer than Hong Kong.

Luckily, I got a job that allowed me to travel all over the world. To me it was a dream-come-true. I got to explore the world, experience different cultures and meet people from all walks of life.

However, the more I traveled, the more I realized that my favorite place in the world is still Hong Kong, my home. And with the passion to meet people of different cultures, I have always loved showing people around Hong Kong whenever I have time. It’s long been a hobby, and I am so thankful to have made a lot of good friends all over the world too.

Believing in the philosophy that a high degree of personalization makes for a better travel experience, I strive to design travel escapes that best suit individual traveler’ interests and needs. Therefore, my tours puts great emphasis on comprehensive communication with my guests in preparation for every tour. Together with our rich knowledge of getting around as a local, you are guaranteed to experience Hong Kong's history, culture and landscape with me in the most unique way.

Coming from the University of Hong Kong (HKU) and studied abroad in The University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC), I have excellent command of English, Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese Chinese. My degree in Linguistics has also contributed to my passion for languages and my professionalism in offering translation and interpretation services. I have years of experience working in various expos in Hong Kong and also as a Public Relations Associate for Hong Kong Metropark Hotel.

If you are looking for a group of translators/interpreters for your events in Hong Kong/ Macau, I am happy to help too. I have a network of professional interpreters and translators from Hong Kong. First of all I would like to apologize to everyone that has been to Hong Kong since I was there in April this year,for you may have been looking for a tour guide and through my sheer laziness of not posting a review earlier you would have missed out on having Mandy take you on a tour of Hong Kong.

I had been to Hong Kong a few times before booking a tour with Mandy and thought I knew the city reasonably well, I only booked because I had a day and a half and just wanted someone to show me a little without wasting too much of my time.Well I was in for a shock the time I spent with Mandy showed me I really did not see anything much in my previous visits to Hong Kong.

Mandy showed me some sights of Hong Kong that no tourist brochure would ever have in it,like great views of the city from a toilet would you believe!!!! Sorry Mandy I did promise not to mention the toilets:-) also other views of the city skyline at night away from the throng of tourists where you can get some great shot with your camera,Mandy also showed me some great places for food and drinks.

I found Mandy to be very friendly and easy to get along with and she was always looking to make the trip enjoyable and was very flexible with what ever I wanted to do,she can do a set itinerary or just go with the flow and do what you want to do,She also has a great knowledge and passion for Hong Kong history.

So on summing up if you are going to Hong Kong for a trip be it business or tourist do yourself a favor and book Mandy even if you have never booked a tour guide you will be thankful you did,I know the next time I go to Hong Kong I will book Mandy and I let all of my friends know that if they go to Hong Kong to book Mandy.

I had a fantastic day having a look around the 'real' Hong Kong with Mandy at the end of March 2015. She was an awesome guide and was totally happy to tailor the tour to suit my needs. She even helped me find tickets to the Hong Kong Sevens the next day. Mandy was friendly and informative and took me places that I simply would not have seen if she hadn't showed them to me. Some delicious food starting with a Dim Sum breakfast and highlighted by a well earned beer at Big Wave Bay after our Dragon's Back hike! A great day; thank you Mandy. I recommend Mandy to anyone wanting to be shown around Hong Kong.

For the last few years, every time I have a chance visit a new city or area and have a little time I arrange a private tour with a local tour guide. It can be so informative and fun. More people should try it. The private tour of Hong Kong with Mandy was by far the best. The two most important things to look for with tour guide is an ability to tailor their knowledge of the area and being fun to be with. Mandy gets a 10 for 10 on both counts. By-the-way, by tailored knowledge of the area I mean matching up what you think you may want to see or do with the guide's knowledge of the area. And then letting them lead the way. The local person always knows so much more to see and do than you can read out of a guide book. I think Hong Kong is a truely a unique 'world-class' city. Mandy showed it well. She is also a lot of fun and easy to be with and very pleasing to the eye. Obviously, I recommend her highly.

My friends and I had an excellent time during our visit to Hong Kong. Mandy was able to show us the ins and outs of the city as only a true local could. She had an obvious love for Hong Kong that showed in every place she took us. She was able to give us some excellent recommendations to the best local cuisine and street food. We had a full day tour with her and could not have been happier.
