The Fujian tulou ( 福建土楼; literally: “Fujian earthen buildings”) are Chinese rural dwellings unique to the Hakka in the mountainous areas in southeastern Fujian, China. They were mostly built between the 12th and the 20th centuries. A tulou is usually a large, enclosed and fortified earth building, most commonly rectangular or circular in configuration, with very thick load-bearing rammed earth walls between three and five stories high and housing up to 800 people. Smaller interior buildings are often enclosed by these huge peripheral walls which can contain halls, storehouses, wells and living areas, the whole structure resembling a small fortified city. Most of the tulou (with the exception of the Dadi tulou cluster in Hua’an county) are found in a relatively small geographical area, straddling the boundary between the Yongding and Nanjing counties, Fujian province. A total of 46 Fujian tulou sites were inscribed in 2008 by UNESCO as World Heritage Site, as “exceptional examples of a building tradition and function exemplifying a particular type of communal living and defensive organization [in a] harmonious relationship with their environment”.

1,振成楼 Zhengchenglou

Zhengchenglou is a circular tulou, which is located in Naxi village, Hukeng town, built in 1912, covers an area of 5000 square meters, points inside and outside two laps, building of building, building outside building , it’s the typical pattern of the eight diagrams building in Yongdin.

2、承启楼 Chengqilou

Chengqilou is located in the north earth buildings at the heart of the high position, is the most famous tulou in the village, the maximum number of tulou central existing, the largest hakka round building, heyday lived more than 800 people, is known as the "king of the round building".

3、集庆楼 Jiqinglou

Jiqinglou was built in the Ming dynasty Yongle seventeen years(1419 year).It has been 580 years of history, covers an area of more than twenty-eight thousand square meters, consists of two ring circular building, outer ring has four layers, has more than two hundred rooms in total, heyday lived in more than 50 families, more than 300 people.

4、振福楼 Zhengfulou

Zhengfulou was built in 1923, according to the eight tri-grams layout designed, building material with a lot of stone and brick, carving delicate, match well of Chinese and western, it’s named Hakka tulou museum of Yongding.

5、福裕楼 Fuyulou

Fuyulou is located in Hongkeng village, Hukeng town, it’s an excellent representative of Yongding tulou, this building was built by three brothers in 1880,their names are Lin Zhongshan， Lin Renshan， Lin Deshan, spent three years, cost more than ten koyo to build Fuyulou. The building covers an area of 7000 square meters, extremely gorgeous, the best-preserved in the soil blocks and the first type of square tulou (the five-phoenix towers).

6、奎聚楼Kuijulou

Kuijulou is a palatial structure of square big tulou, covers an area of more than 6000 square meters, about 15 meters high, building is characterized by high hall, two wing-rooms are low. Seen form above, such as tiger dashing down a mountain.
