Medieval ruins are located on the outer part of the Morocco´s capital, Rabat. In fact, these ruins on the mouth of the river called Bou Regreg are well preserved and are in fact the remains of an ancient necropolis which dates back to Roman period.
The entrance to Chellah is a great, well-preserved gate that stand between two tall towers. Even though the gates were modified through time, there are parts of it that are about 800 years old. Inside the necropolis one can see Roman roads, as well as remains of various constructions of different importance.
Chellah is a great site where one can learn a lot about history and enjoy in a tranquil stroll.
