The White Water Terraces (Baishui Tableland) is located in the foothills of the Haba Snow Mountains, 101 kilometers (about 62 miles) southeast of the Shangri-la County. It is known as one of the most attractive destinations in mysterious Shangri-La and is an ancient Chinese landform with a history of 200,000 to 300,000 years.

The variegated landform of the tableland is a continual deposition of calcium carbonate that is contained in the spring water. Every year, the surface of the land is covered by the deposition and finally transformed into the terraced structure you see today. Today, the White Water Terraces cover an area of three square kilometers (about 741 acres).

The spring water runs down along the slope of the mountain, leaving an impression of a large white jade carving among the green mountain. The tableland lies layer by layer giving the appearance of a terraced field, so the local people call it 'a field left by fairies'. To the left of the tableland, there is a pool and a moon-shaped platform that is said to be the dresser of the fairies. During the autumn, the mountains around the White Water Terraces will be covered by various bright-colored flowers and leaves. Amid the mountains, the White Water Terraces will form a spectacular white contrast.

Besides being a beautifully scenic spot, the White Water Terraces is also the birthplace of Dongba culture of the Naxi Minority Group. According to legend, the first saint of the Dongba Religion was attracted by the fascinating scenery of this place on his way back from Tibet. He then stopped to missionize here. Later, the White Water Terraces became known as the Holy Land of the Dongba Religion. When the second saint of the Dongba Religion came here, he created the Dongba pictograph. Each year, on the eighth day of the second lunar month, the Naxi people will gather here to celebrate their traditional festival by singing and dancing all day and night.

08:30 Trek to Halfway Hostel in Bendiwan Village;
09:30 Trek to Tina's Hostel in the middle part of Tiger Leaping Gorge;
12:00 Lunch at Tina's Hostel（中峡客栈）;
13:00 Trek down to the Middle Rapids of Tiger Leaping Gorge;
14:30 Trek to Walnut Grove Garden(Hetaoyuan);
16:00 Transfer to visit the upper part of Tiger Leaping Gorge;
17:00 Transfer back to Lijiang City;

Niru village in located in Luoji township of Shangrila city ,Yunnan Province.  With Daocheng county of Sichuan Province in the North, and Muli county of Sichuan Province in the east.

The history of Niru can be dated back to 7th century, Ancestors of Tibetan migrated from Tibet, Qinghai province in the north all the way to south then settled down along Riru river.   Till now, people living in Niru are Tibetan and they still living a traditional way of life-  farming and herding.  they believe in the primitive "Bon" religion (old belief of old Tibet).

Niru is known as one of the best 7 trekking destionations in Shangrila.  The other 6 trekking destionation are: Yubeng village on the foot of Meili mountain,  Haba mountain trekking,  Tiger leaping gorge, Baima snow mountain ,  Balagezong grand canyon and Thousands -lakes mountain (千湖山) !

  Shika Snow Mountain is the incarnation of Fortune God in Tibetan People's Region. It's elevation is above 4500 meters high. There are two levels of cable car going up there. During a clear day, we can see 6 holy snow mountains from afar. The top is covered by show during winter and spring time. The most beautiful time is from April to October, with thousand of wild flowers covering the plain. It is a very peaceful and  fair land easily accessible to human being.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1 Shangri-la Arrival (L)
You will be picked up at the Diqing (Shangri-la) Airport and then transferred to visit the Songzan Lin Temple, the Napa Lake and the local market. Overnight in local hotel.

- Songzan Lin Temple: It was founded in the 17th century during the reign of the Great Fifth Dalai Lama, when the yellow Hat school came to full ascendancy in Tibet. It lies a few kilometers beyond the north end of town and welcomes visitors who behave respectfully.
- Napa Lake: It locates at the northern end of Zhongdian's plain, a beautiful marshland and an important wintering ground for the black-necked crane and other wild fowl. In spring the meadow is in full flowers with the bleak mountains as backdrop. In summer, after the rains, the water level rises, but in winter it almost dries up again.

Day 2 Shangri-la (B, L)
Visit the Beta Lake, the Xiage Hot Spring. You will visit a Tibetan family and have lunch with them.

- Beta Lake: It is widely recognized as 'A Pearl on the Plateau' and the most attractive lake in Shangri-La. It is said that a goddess dropped her mirror carelessly to the earth when she was making up. The mirror was broken into pieces and they became lakes on the plateau. Among these pieces, the most beautiful piece with green jade turned into today's Bita Lake.

Day 3 Shangri-la (B, L)
Visit the Shangri-la valley or Baishui Terrace. You can choose one.

- Baishui Terrace:  Snugly situated on a mountain slope 2,380 meters (about 7,806 feet) above sea level, Baishui Terrace, 140 meters (about 459 feet) in length and 160 meters (about 525 feet) in width, is one of the biggest such terraces in China. The spring water runs down from the top row by row to the bottom, like a white terraced field.

Day 4 Shangri-la Departure (B)
Free at leisure until prepared to be transferred to airport for your departure flight.
