Stroll around the city with a bicycle is the best way to get close to local people and know the place. Now it's easy to get a bicycle from I Tianfu Cycling station, which dotted in the city proper by Chengdu Public Transportation Company.

You need to require a local transportation card (Tianfu Tong), which can get from bus stations, some super markets and grocery stores, this card also can be used for city bus and metro,  after recharging 300 RMB as bicycle deposit to your card, you can use the card to get a bicycle from any cycling station.

It's free if you only used for less than one hour, then every two hours is 2 RMB. 

You can get your deposit back from Public Transportation Company service window when you won't use this service anymore. 

Shaxi is located between DALI and Lijiang both are very charming places to be for many of us !its only about 3 hours by  public van from lijiang to shaxi ,there are only 3 regular bus leave fro lijiang to jianchua <where is the head center part for goverment >they are 5 yuan cheaper, more comfortable for big people but dead slow .

I prefer to take the blue van from lijiang on the main street where it goes to lashihai .you will see lots of vans park on the road side ,thats the outdoor van station for short distance or long distance local tralver .the drivers are very helpful and cost 25 yuan one way to go in 2 hours  . sometimes are good to chat with women drivers too during the ride . they are very lovely ? then they would drop you off at the town bus station then you will see doze of blue vans are parked out side of ticket office , its 10 yuan to go from here all the way to the entrance of the Shaxi old town , it takes less than a hour.

First take the minivan or public bus to Jianshuan bus station, fare is both 10 y

From Jianshuan bus station take the bus to Dali train station, fare is about 35 y

Take the night train to Kunming fare is about 300 y there are 3 leaving between 20.00 and 22.00 pm

From Kunming train station take bus no 152, fare 2 y, to the north bus station.

from here you have the 3 ways:

Mohan;                 leave at: 20.00 pm.  780 km.   fare 338 y

Vientiane;             leave at: 18.00 pm. 1420 km. fare 587 y. 36 hours!

Luang prabang;   leave at: 18.30 pm. 1100 km.  fare 398 y

note: If you can book in advance a flight from lijiang or kunming it could be done for just a bit more money.

6 subway lines are planned to be built and finished around 2020, totally spanning 251.8 km. Now only Subway Line 2 (first phase) has been completed and in operation now.
