The Hong Kong Wetland Park is a park highlighting the unique ecology of the wetlands in the area. It was set up as compensation for wetlands lost to the development of the Tin Shui Wai new town development, and the nearby industrial estate.

The park is also home to Pui Pui, a crocodile found in the nearby Shan Pui river in November 2003, and finally caught in June 2004. This crocodile is suspected to be a pet, whose owner released the animal in the wild.

It comes with a 10,000-square-metre visitor centre and a 60-hectare Wetland Reserve showing off various types of wetland, and allowing for bird watching from two purpose built shelters.

The Wetland Park is best visited at low tide as then the mudflats are exposed, and common critters like fiddler crabs and mudskippers can be observed.

The Mirror Pool waterfall is one of the tallest waterfalls in Hong Kong. The Mirror Pool can be found above the fall, and as the name suggests this is a tranquil pool with water smooth as a mirror, in stark contrast to the wild waterfall below it. The plunge pool is deep and suitable for swimming.

This stunning waterfall can be reached easily, it is just a short hike from the main road. A second waterfall, the Mirror Pool fall, can be found nearby.

Legend has it that once on a rainy day a bride was carried on her sedan chair to the village of her husband to be, when one of the men carrying her slipped, and the bride fell to her death here, hence the name.

The Pat Sin Leng is a mountain range in the New Territories, near Tai Po. It is famous for its challenging climb and beautiful views from the top.

The name, roughly translated, means "Peaks of Eight Gods", referring to eight gods or fairies from Chinese mythology, and the eight distinct peaks of the ridge.

Pat Sin Leng is also part of a large escarpment, where over a distance of several kilometers part of the earth has been pushed up by a couple hundred meters. This results in a very steep slope on the south side (the scarp face), and a much gentler slope on the north side of this ridge.

Lai Chi Chong (荔枝莊) is a village and an area of Hong Kong on the southeastern shore of the Tolo Channel. Near the village, along the shore, is a geologically interesting site, which is part of the Hong Kong National Geopark of China.

Here convoluted beddings can be observed. These rocks are not just beautiful with their layering, they are also rather unique as it is a sedimentary rock formed from volcanic ash that was washed down the mountains. This kind of rock is found only in very few places in the world.

Lai Chi Chong can be reached by ferry departing from Ma Liu Shui, or by foot hiking about two hours from Pak Tam Road. It has been designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest since 1985.

Sok Kwu Wan (Chinese: 索罟灣), also called Picnic Bay (Chinese: 野餐灣) is a bay off the east coast of Lamma Island. There is a fishing village of the same name,  Sok Kwu Wan, where the ferries from Central and kaitos from Aberdeen moor. A large number of fish farms can be seen in this bay, part of which has been made into a fishing folk museum. The area around the ferry pier is known for the strip of seafood restaurants.
