The 1912 Nightlife District
1912 is the main bar district in Nanjing. In a nutshell, it’s where the trendy, young crowds go.
1912 opened up in 2004 and has become consistently busier ever since. Many bars and clubs dot 1912 including one of the "Scarlet" bars, Red Club, and Blue Marlin Restaurant. In general prices are comparable to other bars in Nanjing.
The 1912 District is naturally busier on weekends, and can get packed with crowds at Christmas time and other holidays.
Location: 1912 stretches along Taiping Bei Lu (太平北路) between Changjiang Lu (长江路) and Changjiang Hou Jie (长江后街). It is within walking distance of Xinjiekou and it is easy to catch a cab to or from 1912 as all taxi drivers should be familiar with the popular nighspot.
Why is it called 1912?
1912 adopts its name from the year Dr. Sun Yat Sen overthrew the Qing Dynasty and created the Republic of China with Nanjing as the capital. The 1912 area is now located next to the old headquarters of the Chinese Nationalist Party.

I've been there once,I am amazed by the night view of the street, it's fabulous. You can not miss it if you travel to Nanjing.

" We spent 18 memorable days with Anil as ECO TREKKING in April 2014. We couldn't
recommend him highly enough. He is reliable,very very honest and great fun to be
with and went out of his way to make our trip a huge success. Anil's car
is very comfortable and his driving impeccable, no doubt in part due to
his time spent as traffic cop in Colombo. All of the hotels that Anil
arranged were great and everything was organized perfectly. We will
remember the many conversations that we had with Anil - his insights into
the Sri Lankan way of life really enhanced the whole experience for us

1912 is not only a bar district,it also has many good restuarants and teahouses there.
Spend your night time here, good choice.
The 1912 Nightlife District is a big area in downtown, with many good restaurants, cafes, bars and KTVs.
If you traveling to Nanjing, if you don't wanna just stay at hotel, you should come out to check this area. You can have some decent Chinese food here, from Sichuan to Cantonese, also food from Thailand and Japanese, there is always one will suit you.
Starbucks and Costa cafe are right next to each other, chill up with friends.
All kinds of bars with people dancing inside, you will have a lot fun here.
