Choosing a Tour Guide : Shopping Stop Trap .

One thing to be careful of when choosing a Tour Guide is : Shopping Stops !

Many tour guides will try to earn extra commissions by detouring you to 'factory tours' , pearl markets' , etc.

This wastes your valuable time and the goods sold there are usually overpriced to allow for kickbacks to the guide .

So , when choosing your guide , make sure you make it clear you DO NOT want any of the 'shopping stops' . You have not come all the way to China just to be used as a object to earn commissions on . If they try to tell you that it is part of their tour , then just cross them off your list of potential tour guides . They may be offering you a 'cheap' tour , but you will pay with wasted time and rip off prices . And aggravation .
