Yuelu Academy

Morning:

I'll meet you at the lobby of your hotel at 9:00am (the time could be changed at your request).

Then we will head to Mount Yuelu, the most popular attraction in Changsha. You will have choices to take a cable car, a tourist car or just hike to the top of the mountain. Strolling on the mountaintop and breathing the natural healthy air leisurely.

The second attraction we will visit is Yuelu Academy. It located at the foot of Mount Yuelu. It was built 1,000 years ago. It was one of best schools in China. We will find out how meaningful and great this Academy was after we are soaked into the academic atmosphere there. You could enjoy chime live music at the academy (the musicians play Chinese ancient music instruments).

Afternoon:

After lunch at a local Chinese restaurant, we will check out Orange Island Park. There is a  huge Maozhedong's head stone statue on the isle.

At the end of this day tour. We will explore Tianxin Pavilion. You will see the original relic wall of ancient Changsha city, it was built in 202 BC. You will read and learn the historic stories of Three Kingdoms Period from mural paintings on the wall of the pavilions there.

Window shopping at Peaceful Street. Having special local snacks at Pozi Street or having delicious dinner at Fiery Palace Restaurant. Taking a massage service for relaxation. Enjoying the night life in the night club in Changsha.)

Day 1  

Arriving Changsha at 11:05 am, Pickup by driver and transfer 4 hours to Zhangjiajie, check into the hotel in Wulingyuan scenic area.

Day 2

Highlights: Huangshizhai---Golden Whip Stream---Charming Western Hunan Folk Show 

Breakfast around 8:00 in the early morning, transfer to Zhangjiajie national forest park, which is famous for its pillar-like peaks and exquisite forests. Get ready for some jaw-dropping panoramic views on your hiking advebtures Huangshizhai, in English Yellow stone stronghold. It’s the largest summit platform in the park, there are numerous lookout points for stunning views, from which you can see nearly half of the peaks of Zhangjiajie, there is a popular saying goes like that if you don't visit Huangshizhai, you can't claim that you have come to Zhangjiajie. Have a brief lunch on the top of mountain. In the afternoon, enjoy a beautiful hiking along the golden whip stream. With a length of 7.5km, Golden Whip Stream is famous for its pristine water, its verdant mountains, its steep cliffs and its serene valley, and it was reputed as one ‘of the most beautiful valleys’ in the world, walking along the stream for 2.5 hours. Finish the day around 5:00pm.Dinner will be arranged in local restaurant, the guide will help you to order the food according to your request.  After dinner and fresh up in the hotel, you can enjoy the famous folk show----Charming Western Hunan, which has been staged on the Spring Festival Gala hold by CCTV in 2012.

Day 3

Highlights: Yuanjiajie---Tianzi mountain—Shilihualang

Departure around 8:00 in the morning, enter into the national park by taking eco-bus, take elevator up to Yuanjiajie scenic area, which is now famous for the shooting place of the fantastic movie---Avata. We can see the floating Avata-Hallelujah mountain, No.1 nature bridge and Mihun platform and so on. Simple lunch on the top of mountain, then visit Tujia Folk Village, from which you can have a brief understanding of the ancient hunting life-style of Tujia nationality, then take the eco-bus to Tianzi Mountain, known as 'the Monarch of the Peak Forest', where is a perfect location to have a panoramic view of the nature reserve, you can enjoy He long park, western peak forest sea. Finish the day around 5:00pm.Dinner will be arranged in local restaurant.

Day 4

Highlights: Yellow Dragon Cave---- Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon  

Breakfast in the hotel, transfer to Yellow dragon cave. It is the longest one in Asia; it is an incomparable realm of gigantic subterranean chambers, fantastic cave formations, and extraordinary features. After the cave transfer to Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, Situated in Sanguansi, cili county Zhangjiajie city, 10 km east to Wulingyuan world natural heritage site, the canyon is a new discovered spots in Zhangjiajie, which is well-known for the fresh air and crystal waterfall, 3 hours to finish it.

Day 5

Highlights:  Baofeng lake---Tujia folk park---Old Yard---Sandstone painting gallery

Check out from the hotel around 8:00, enjoy a peaceful boat riding on the beautiful Baofeng lake. Being located high up in the mountains, the lake catches some of the first and purest runoff water from the mountain peaks. Its height also guarantees an air freshness, Baofeng Lake is supported by lush green trees and shrub-clad stone peaks of various shapes that enclose the lake and give it a fairytale-like atmosphere.  Transfer back to Zhangjiajie, have visit to Tujia folk park and the Old yard, which has more than 300 hundred years history, enjoy the history and the  traditional life of Tujia nationality. After that, we can have a visit to Junsheng sandstone paiting gallery to enjoy the unique artist work----sandstone painting, which is created by a local Tujia painter named Li junsheng.  Check into the hotel.

Day 6

Highlights: Tianmen Mountain---Fairy fox show

Arriving in Zhangjiajie in the morning, a warm welcome from your guide and driver, transfer to Tianmen Mountain, take half an hour riding on the longest cable-car in the world (about 7.5 km) directly reach the top of Tianmen mountain. Have a breathless walking along the glass plank-road against the cliff.  Tianmen cave, the natural mountain-penetrating karst cave with the highest elevation in the world, hangs on the towering cliff. There are many graceful trees, karts hillocks and medicinal herbs and plants on the mountain. (about 5-6 hours sightseeing activies in Tianmen Mountain). Fresh up in the hotel, get ready for the beautiful and moving night show.

Day 7

Highlights: Furong town----Red Stone Forest----Zuolongxia Gorge 

Check out from the hotel in the morning, transfer 1.5 hours to Furong town, Furong Town is originally named Wangcun, about 90km away from Zhangjiajie center city. It is an ancient town where Tujia minority live together.The famous movie Furong Town directed by Xiejin is shot here. After the we finish Furong town, transfer to the Red Stone Forest, which is famous for its distinctive rock formation, lovely personal image of the rocks, full of astonishments. Zuolongxia gorge is a adventure spot testing your gut, the plank road built in the in-depth valley against cliff, challenging but not dangerous, but you have to go all out to get along with iron rope chain, listening to the roaring water below the stream , marvel at spectacutar scenery.  Transfer to the hotel in Jishou city.

Day 8

Highlights:   Dehang Miao village---Fenghuang ancient city  

Check out the hotel in the morning, transfer half an hour to Dehang. Dehang is a Miao language means “beautiful valley”, because of the unique landscape with highly straight cliffs and overlapped peaks, Dehang become a beautiful valley with lots of peaks, waterfalls and an area of virgin forest, with some rivers staggered in the region, owned a pleasant climate and rich of flora and fauna. On the way there, you can marvel at the world most breathtaking bridge, Aizhai tunnel to tunnel suspension bridge, which is newly completed. Hiking along the farm road of the Miao village, reach the highest waterfall in the world----Liusha waterfall, experience the true life of Miao people. Hiking in the valley around 3 hours. Transfer to Fenghuang ancient city. 

Day 9

Highlights:   South China Great Wall------Changsha   

Check out form the hotel, transfer 30 minutes to the South China Great Wall. South China great wall locates in Xiangxi Tujia & Miao people autonomous prefecture, it become famous because it is only military defence wall in south China, it spans 190km long over the mountain ridge, it start in Fenghuang county, span most part in Fenghuang and end in Tingzi pass Guizhou province.it was built in Ming dynasty with the investment of central government to seperate Miao people,it was dicovered in year 2000 after many year of isolation. Transfer 6 hours to Changsha, check inton the hotel in Changsha.

Day 10 

Highlights: Yuelu Academy    

Check out in the morning, transfer to Yuelu Academy----“one-thousand-year-old academy” which was established in Northern Song dynasty and has witnessed a history of more than one thousand years without a break.  Visit the academy 1.5 hours, then transfer to Huanghua airport, finish the pleasant trip in Hunan.
