Liwan Lake Park
Liwan Lake Park is located in Liwan District, part of the XiGuan, literally "West Gate". In the past, Guangzhou, or commonly called the capital of Guangdong Province had three city gates respectively on its east, south and west. They are Dongguan ( literally "East Gate"), Nanguan (literally "South Gate") and Xiguan (literally "West Gate"). There are mountains in the north of the city so there was no such thing called Beiguan (literally "North Gate"). Guan means gate in Chinese. Thus, Xiguan refers to the area outside the west gate of Guangzhou.
Liwan Lake Park is designed to reflect Xiguan people's life, water (they did fishing for living), Lychee, restuarant on the boat, etc. And it is also a great place for the local people to relax and enjoy family time.
