Shuttlecock Kicking
Shuttlecock, or Jianzi in Chinese, is traditionally made of a coin covered in cloth and fitted with cock feathers upward. It’s a very popular game among the old and young in China. The general objective of this game is to kick the shuttlecock time and again, keeping it in the air so that it does not fall onto the ground. There are diversified techniques to play it, including playing with it on the knee, the abdomen and the head. It’s said that the monks in the Shaolin Temple sometimes do this as a supplementary exercise for practice of martial arts.
