Chinese ganoderma (Ling Zhi)

Chinese ganoderma is described as the “mushroom of immortality”. It grows on decaying hardwood logs and stumps in the mountains, mainly in East China. As a polypore mushroom, it is soft and corky when it is fresh, and it appears flat with a reddish or reddish-brown cap. Natural ganoderma is rare and hard to find. The most heavily planted two species are the red ganoderma and the purple ganoderma. They serve to enhance immunity, control blood pressure and improve quality of sleep.
