Meet your guide in the lobby of your Beijing hotel at 5:30 p.m .(with choice of departure time) and travel together by taxi (at you own expense) to the main market area. Stroll through the hutongs, or old alleyways, and learn about their history as you walk to your first eatery.
Upon arrival at Lanzhou Xiao Guan Restaurant, sample rice noodles. Then, try tanjianbing, a savory fried pancake popular among locals.
Continue walking down the same street to taste a number of other sweet and savoroy specialties, including sesame cakes, Sichuan noodles , donkey burger , Tortoise jelly , cold noodles, hot pot , rice wine, and more. Throughout the tour, learn about each dish’s ingredients and cultural significance from your guide.
