Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture( some would like to write it as Garzê), it is located in Sichuan Province of southwestern China, the capital is Kangding, 470km away from Chengdu, about 5 hours drive. The population is around 880,000, with Tibetans accounting for 77.8%

.the counties Daocheng,  Yading, Xiangcheng, are regarded as the Shangri-La because the novel Lost Horizon by British author James Hilton in 1933.  It has a lot of tour resources such as Gongga Snow mountain(7556 m), Danba, Tagong grassland etc. Ganzi has the first highway from Ya'an to the capital of Tibet Lhasa.

Ganzi was traditionally part of the historical region of Kham in eastern Tibet. It has deep Tibetan culture and history.
