Huanglongxi Old Town
Huanglongxi (Yellow Dragon River) is a 1700 years old town situated in the Chengdu southern suburb. The town is located by a clear river and surrounded by green mountains. Most of the natives are living by farming,and still keeping their very old traditional lifestyle. It 's a nice experience to escape from the huge Chengdu city to spend a day in this town with Old street, simple cottages,traditional architectures,ancient Buddhist temples,relaxing lifestyle and nice local people. Summer(June to August) is a nice season to visit the town,temperature is quite comfortable for outdoor activities such as swimming,hiking in the mountain,cycling along the river.
Tourists facilities: nice local restaurants and family inns in the town.
How to get there: Take a bus from Chengdu Xinnanmen Bus Station. First Bus at 8am,every 30 min. Last bus back to Chengdu at 5pm.

around chengdu there are some old villages, also around zigong city. but the size is not so big like lijiang or fenghuang.
