When you take the taxi in Beijing.

It's very convenient and inexpensive to take a taxi get around in Beijng. I want to give you some tips for taking  the taxi here.

First, You'd better just take the official taxi, because you're a tourist. It's safe and there is guarantee of the service. All of the official taxis have license brand  beginning with the letter "B" ( 京B) . With a dark yellow strip and the name of the taxi company in the center, the other parts are dark reddish brown , white , green or blue.  The unofficial cars may look like taxis but their license brand  will start with the other letters . And the paint of the car just be a  single colour . It will charge you a higher fee for the journey, unless you are a good bargainer, know where you are going, and know what the right fare should be. Sometimes, they drop the foreign tourists in wrong places. Even, the driver may  take them to the countryside and rob them.

Second, to communicate with the taxi driver is also a problem.  Most of them do not speak English. You'd better ask  your hotel write down your destination on a card to show the driver. Make sure to take the hotel's business card (or a map) that lists the hotel's address in Chinese. 

Third, it's also the most important warning. No matter how near or how far is your destination, don't take the tricycle or electric tricycle. It's a very common scam for foreign tourist in Beijing. The driver will tell you" three money", "three money", but never mind where do you want to go. When you get on the tricycle, they will take you to a quiet place rapidly. Their cahoots are waiting there. they will rob the tourist.
