Shantou Mayu island

Mayu Island is located at the entrance to the sea at Shantou. The island is 650 meters long and 640 meters wide with a total area of 206,000 square meters. Its altitude is about 39 meters and its coastline is about 2.3 kilometers. The strangest thing on the island is that there are two Mazu temples standing next to each other. The fishermen believe in Mazu, the goddess of the sea, but it is unusual for one island to have two temples dedicated to her.
