Depart from Penang island or mainland. If traveling from Penang island, the first stop will be ferry terminal and cross the sea channel to Butterworth.

The stop at Alor Setar is the Kedah Royal Museum where is the earlier Kedah Sultan palace. The next stop is 4th Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dr Mahathir bin Mohammod birth house. 

Lunch at Menara Alor Setar and seeing the whole Alor Setar city. At the Menara Alor Setar, it is possible to see Thailand border.

Visiting Kedah state, one must not miss the Paddy Museum because Kedah is the largest producer of paddy in Malaysia.

The last stop is Lembah Bujang archeology museum. In 3rd to 4th century, it used to be a busy trading port in Southeast Asia. At the museum, Hinduism tombs are there to see and touch.
