Overview- Langtang valley is a short yet very beautiful trekking destination that lies just north of Kathmandu, close to the border of Tibet. The maximum altitude in this place is 4773m (Kyanjin Ri). Langtang valley is highly protected by Langtang National Park where you can witness majestic flora and fauna, Yak Pastures, Local cheese factories, thundering waterfalls, and animals like Red panda, Himalayan bears, musk deer, etc. This diverse trek also introduces you to the Buddhist culture of Tamang, Sherpa, the ancient Monastery of Kynajin Gompa, spectacular views of mountains like Dorje Lakpa, Langtang Ri, and Langtang Lirung. There is no doubt why Langtang valley is one of the favorite treks of the Nepalese. Langtang valley after it was utterly destroyed by the earthquake of 2015, has stood up again to rebuild its charm. It’s our turn to continue visiting this place and help them in every possible way for growth and development.
Temperature and weather
The average temperature in the spring season can be around 10-20 degrees Celsius which is quite warm. Similarly, the temperature in autumn can be around 10-20 degrees Celsius but fall to 5 degrees Celsius at night. Summer being the hottest season the temperature rises over 30 degrees Celsius in the daytime. It slightly drops when there is rainfall. The temperature in the winter season ranges from 6-9 degrees Celsius in the daytime while it can fall to zero or below zero at night. The lowest temperature in the winter season is -3 degrees Celsius, especially in January.
Best season to visit
Langtang valley trek can be done in any month throughout the year. However, the best season to go is spring, (March to May) and September to November. December- February is also possible and offers you beautiful views of Rhododendrons forest and views of mountains. Monsoon season (July and August) also known as summer receives lot of rainfall and the trails are slippery and muddy also with low chances of floods and landslides. With necessary precaution, you can still trek Langtang valley.
Food and accommodation
Langtang Valley has been very well set up in terms of food and accommodation. Even though the earthquake of 2015 destroyed many houses in this place, some nice houses are still there which offers you warm comfortable rooms to spend your night. They have fireplaces, comfortable beds, a hot shower (optional), and warm blankets. Some teahouses also have attached bathrooms. You can also get a private room easily. The price for tea houses is normally 6-7$ (600-700 NRS) per night.
Foods- you will have more than enough options for food in this place. The most common food served is definitely our traditional food which is Dal, Bhat, Lentils and fresh vegetables. Besides this, you will also get tea, coffee, juice, pancakes, eggs, potatoes, bread, momos, fried rice, hot soup, and many more. The basic price for lunch and dinner is 4-5$ (400-500NRS). Water, tea, and coffee might cost you 1-3$ (100-300 NRS).
Transportation
Bus- there is a bus available from Kathmandu to Shyabru Besi which takes around 8-11 hours and costs you around 600-800 NRS. You can also go by jeep or car which is more comforting and expensive. If you wish to go by jeep it cost you around 1500 per person. Once you reach Shyabrubesi you need to start a tour trek.
Road transportation plus hiking is the only way to reach Langtang valley.
Permit/fees
Langtang National Park Permit- This permit is mandatory for everyone coming to visit Langtang Valley. This permit costs you 34$ (34000 NRS) for every foreigner besides SAARC countries. It cost only 15$ (1500) to SAARC countries
TIMs- this permit is too necessary for every trekker in Nepal. This cost 10$ (1000 NRS) for every foreigner besides SAARC countries. It cost only 5$ (500NRS) to them.
Guides/porters
Guides and porters are merely an option in this trek. The place is well known for trekking and they have signboards, many teahouses on your way to know about directions and places. People there are more than happy to guide you and offer you an overnight stay. If you are physically fit enough to carry your belongings, there is also no need for a porter. Since this is a short and easy trek it shouldn’t be difficult to walk around with your bags.
Communication and electronics
There is internet available only in a few places like Shyabrubesi, Dhunche and Langtang valley itself. Mobile coverages of NTC and NCELL are available so you can be connected to your friends and families. Electricity is available in every teahouse so you can charge your phones and other electronics. You might have to pay extra money for this.
Safety/fitness- Langtang valley trek is mild to moderately difficult trek. The average walking hour is 4-5 hours per day which is not really difficult. However, having stable physical heath is necessary. You can practice light exercise, running, and jogging before your trek starts. The maximum height here can be nearly 5000m so yes there is still a risk of mountain sickness. You need to stay hydrated and eat nutritional food throughout your journey.
Other requirements
Insurance- travel insurance is kind of a mandatory thing before traveling anywhere. You can always purchase your travel insurance from your travel agencies. It usually costs around 150$(15000 NRS) good for 30 days. You need to give them complete details about the places and altitudes you will be reaching because your insurance depends on details you have given earlier.
Nepal visas/passports - foreigners other than Indians need to have valid visas and passports prior to visiting Nepal. The passport must hold a minimum of 6 months of visa validity from their date of arrival. They can have a Nepalese visa at Kathmandu Tribhuwan International airport.

Details itinerary for Annapurna Poonhill Trek / Panorama sunrise Trekking
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
On the first day of the itinerary, you will be received at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu by our representatives and then be transferred to the hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 02: Drive to Pokhara, 6/7 hours
on the 2rd day, you will drive to Pokhara (around 200km) by means of Prithivi Highway. The bus will leave at 7 AM in the dawn. It will take about 6 hours of drive in the midst of striking scenery all along the way.In the remaining time you can explore the Pokhara city and Lakeside.
Day 03: Drive to Nayapul and trek to Urleri village
after breakfast in the morning on the third day, you will then be driven to Naya Pul (42km) via car/taxi. An hour of walk from Naya Pul will take you to Birethanti, a small and vibrant town nearby Pokhara. Trekking formally starts from here as you will walk for a four hours along the beautiful trail with bamboo forests and water springs on the way to tikhedunga . After that ascend around 1000 meters as the trail normally grows rising. You will come across a lot of small rivulets and river springs. In the middle, you will arrive at a traditional Magar village of Ulleri, which is situated at around 2080 meter for overnight
Day 04: Trek to Ghorepani walking 5 hrs
Three hours of a hike from Ulleri grabs you to Nangethanti though , where you will take your lunch. Again walking further hours of a trek from Nangethanti, you will reach to Ghorepani, where you will stay. From Ghorepani, you can outlook incredible views of Dhaulagiri I, Tukuche, and an extra adjoining Himalayas. You can still enjoy the sunrise view from Ghorepani. Overnight stay at a guest house.
Day 05: Hike Poon hill (3210m), and trek to Tadapani walking 6/7 hrs.
You will wake up early in the morning to start the next trip which provides the best clear views and sun rising over the Himalayas. You can enjoy lots of White Mountains from Poon Hill. After sun rising, you will return to get away and here you will take your day meal. Ghorepani means “horse water” and is certainly a welcome water to stop for the groups of equine, high heel mules and equine that carries abundance between Pokhara and Jomsom. From Ghorepani, the up wards lead us to Durali for another breathtaking views of Annapurna Himalayas Rang & our journey start to get down to down. After crossing a small river again, we will climb another 30 minutes where beautiful Tadapani village will welcome us. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Day 06: Tadapani to Ghandruk Village walking 4 hours
short Hiking to Ghandruk Takes 4 hours from Tadapani, the trail abruptly today passing through the forests where you can find monkeys and different birds. Ghandruk is the second largest Gurung village in Nepal where you can explore the maze-like streets of this thriving Gurung settlement. In addition, you can have a good view of the mountains like Annapurna South and Fishtail. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Day 07: Back to Pokhara
On the 8th day you will trek to Pokhara from Ghandruk after taking breakfast. On the way, you come across Seuli Bazzar and the Modi River. At Birethanti, you will have your lunch in a small vibrant town nearby Pokhara. Birethanti is quite popular for fish delicacy. The trek then continues towards Nayapul before being driven back to Pokhara. Overnight stay at a hotel
Day 08: Back to Kathmandu
On the 9th day you will drive back to Kathmandu from Pokhara.you

Itinerary
Day 1: Greetings at Kathmandu Airport
We will meet you at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to your hotel. When you have had your time to settle in and freshen up after your long fight, you will be invited to visit our office for a briefing about your program. You will have meeting with your trekking guide and discuss about the equipment needed for the trekking and we will process for the trekking permits. During this visit we will help you check your equipment and facilitate the processing of other necessary items such as National Park Permits, special permits etc. If you arrive at night we will have same discussion in next day morning after your breakfast.
Day 2: A full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu, the capital valley
After breakfast you will leave for a full day sightseeing tour around Kathmandu valley. You can visit sacred Pashupatinath Temple and Swyambhunath, very ancient and essentially enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage sites. The biggest Buddhist Stupa at Boudhnath and the prehistoric architecture of Kathmandu Durbar Square reflecting the ancient Nepalese culture are highlighted on our guided tour. The sightseeing tour continues to Patan City, famous for its fine arts and historical architecture. On return to your hotel you will have time to explore the local area, have dinner and perhaps take a leisurely stroll through the popular streets.
Day 3: Kathmandu to Sundarijal
Drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal takes approximately one hour and trek from Sunjdarijal to Chisapani takes about four and half hours. The trail will enter through the Shivpuri Watershed and Wildlife Reserve. The first settlement you will come across is Mulkharka with Tamang habitants. The route heads down the ridge through a forest of oaks and rhododendron to Chisopani (2300m.)
Day 4: Chisapani to Nagarkot
Trek from Chisapani to Nagarkot takes about six and half hours. Your trek starts to Chauki Bhanjag, which takes about 2 and half hours. You continue the charming trails leading you toward Nagarkot. Nagarkot, (2175m) is by far one of the most popular destination. In the clear weather the Himalaya range, stretching from Dhaulagiri in the west all the way past Everest to Kanchenjunga in the east, emerges from the darkness to greet the happy visitor with its awe inspiring majesty and beauty.
Day 5: Nagarkot to Dhulikhel
Trek from Nagarkot to Dhulikhel takes about six hours. As you approach Dhulikhel, a plethora of cultural diversities, interesting traditional practices, lush vegetation and rich birdlife unfolds before you. Dhulikhel (1440m.) is a small town with a long history. According to the records it has been around for more than 500 years. The artistic skill and urban ethos of its Newar inhabitants have created a place of charm and beauty. Streets are lined with bare-brick houses, carved wooden windows, sloping roofs, pagoda temples and sacred statues everywhere. The major places of worship here are the Narayan and Harisiddhi temples which are adored with profuse wood carvings. The Gokhureswar Mahadev temple, a 30 minutes walk to the eastern part of town, is a peaceful and scenic spot. The Bhagawati temple is situated at a height in the western part of Dhulikhel and dominates the skyline. From here, you can get a beautiful vista of the town and surrounding areas.
Day 6: Dhulikhel to Namo Buddha-Panauti
Trek from Dhulikhel to Namo Buddha-Panauti takes approximately four and half hours and drive from Panauti to Kathmandu takes about one and half hours. From Dhulikhel, the trail climbs up to the Kali Mandir, a temple dedicated to Goddess Kali. From there the trail drops down to the village of Kavre and past a line of shops and tea houses. It then climbs again through pine woods past Phulbari and up and down a couple of more hills before you reach the hill of NamoBuddha. Namobouddha situated at an elevation of 1750m is very important Buddhist Pilgrimage located in Kavre District about 38 km east of Kathmandu. The Stupa and shrines built in this lovely little hill mark a very ancient holy site where a legendary prince named Mahasattva offered himself to a starving Tigress with several underfed cubs. This legendary episode is depicted in a stone slab and placed right next to a holy Stupa
