Apart from shopping at the Stanley Market and dinning at the Stanley waterfront, travelers can do five more important and interesting things at that famous small peninsula.

(1)Mail the post cards at the Stanley Post Office

If you want to mail the beautiful post cards to your friends after shopping at Stanley, you can go to the Stanley Post Office, which was built in 1937.  It is the oldest post office in operation in Hong Kong.

(2)Buy the drinks at the Old Stanley Police Station
After shopping, you may feel very thirsty.  You can go to the Old Stanley Police Station, which is a supermarket today.  The old police station was built in 1859.  The government just restores and re-uses it.  So you can buy the drinks at a special supermarket, which is the heritage building.

(3)Visit the Stanley War Cemetery
British soldiers were the first customers of the Stanley Market.  During WWII, the Commonwealth soldiers at Stanley fought until the last minute and surrendered to the Japanese on the Christmas day of 1941.  Lots of heroes, who lost their lives in the line of duty, were buried at the Stanley War Cemetery.  You can visit the cemetery to salute the heroes and enjoy a good view of Stanley Peninsula.

(4)Visit the Goddess of the Seas Temple

The Goddess of the Seas Temple is often ignored by the travelers because of its location.  It is actually a museum of Chinese religions or Chinese religion supermarket, as the temple has more than 10 gods' statues.  You can learn more about the Chinese religions or get the helps from different gods very easily.  Also the 'tiger skin' is an interesting exhibit.

(5)Enjoy dim sum at the Stanley Plaza

Now you can enjoy very good dim sum at a restaurant at the Stanley Plaza.  The restaurant has lots of modernized traditional Chinese cuisines.  If you are not very hungry and just want to have a light meal, you may even just order ONE shrimp dumpling and ONE pork dumpling. Remember the normal Chinese tea is free of charge!

除了在市集瘋狂購物和在海濱的西餐廳吃飯看海，遊客們還可以在赤柱做五件重要而有趣的事……

(1)在赤柱郵政局寄明信片

在赤柱市集買了很多有香港美景的明信片，想立刻寄給親朋好友分享旅途樂事，你們就要到赤柱郵政局了。赤柱郵政局建於1937年，是香港最古老而仍在運作的郵政局。

(2)在舊赤柱警署買飲品

在赤柱「血拼」後，非常口渴，你們就可到在郵政局旁的超級市場–舊赤柱警署–買飲品解渴。保育古蹟在寸金尺土的香港十分困難，能把建於1859年的古蹟活化再利用變身為超級市場，實在難能可貴。

(3)憑弔赤柱軍人墳場

赤柱有市集，皆因以前駐守赤柱的英軍需要購買食物補給。日本侵略香港時，英聯邦軍人在赤柱抵抗至最後一刻，才在1941年聖誕節投降。有英勇捐軀的軍人長眠於赤柱軍人墳場，遊客可從巴士總站步行十五分鐘左右到墳場憑弔一番，同時欣賞赤柱美景。

(4)參觀赤柱天后廟

赤柱天后廟在市集的另一邊，距市集十分鐘步程，遊客常常把它忽略。其實赤柱天后廟供奉超過十個神像，一如一間中國宗教博物館或宗教「超級市場」，是想多認識滿天神佛或求神拜佛的好地方，而廟中的「老虎皮」亦是有趣的展品。

(5)到赤柱廣場吃點心
過去赤柱沒有在衛生和口味上適合遊客的點心酒樓。現在遊客在購物前後，可到赤柱廣場內的點心餐廳大快朵頤。此新餐廳茶芥全免，有著各種經改良的炒粉麵飯，而最傳統的蝦餃和燒賣，就做到一個蒸籠只有一顆，像精品一樣，要多少，點多少，不怕浪費食物！

The famous Victoria Harbour has a 76km long coastline.  You can take good photos to make your own postcards, which are different from the common postcards from the souvenir shops, at the three special viewpoints.

(1)Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park
The park is at Shenug Wan.  Just behind the statue of Dr Sun Yat Sen, the Father of Republican China, there is a promenade, where you can see the tallest building, ICC, the construction site for the West Kowloon Cultural District, container terminal and Stonecutter Island Bridge.

(2)Kai Tak Cruise Terminal Rooftop Garden
The Kai Tak Cruise Terminal is at the end of the old Kai Tak Airport runway.  You may go to the rooftop garden of the new terminal to see the Victoria Harbour view from a completely new angle.  You can see the eastern entrance of the harbour, Lei Yue Mun Fishing Village.  The rooftop garden is also a very good viewpoint for the fireworks displays during Chinese New Year and the National Day on 1 October.

(3)Quarry Bay Waterfront Park
Quarry Bay Waterfront Park is at the eastern part of the Hong Kong Island.  You can see how big the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal is from there.  You can also see the Lion Rock, Kowloon Peak, Kowloon East commercial area and lots of government subsidized housing blocks.

著名的維多利亞港有長76公里的海岸線，你們可以到三個不同的觀景點，欣賞到不同於明信片的維港美景。

(一)中山紀念公園
公園位於上環海旁，「中國國父」孫中山銅像的背後，就是一片無敵大海景，全港最高的環球貿易廣場(ICC)、在建的西九龍文娛藝術區、貨櫃碼頭和昂船洲大橋盡收眼底，還有進進出出繁忙的港澳碼頭的高速船作點綴。

(二)啟德郵輪碼頭公園
新郵輪碼頭在舊啟德機場跑道的末端，到碼頭的天台花園，就可從一個嶄新的角度欣賞維港美景，維港東邊入口 – 鯉魚門和香港島東部的美景可盡入眼簾。農曆年初二和十一國慶的煙花匯演，啟德郵輪碼頭公園是一個絕佳的觀賞點。

(三)鰂魚涌海濱花園
花園位於香港島東區，在啟德郵輪碼頭的對岸，除了一覽這座海上長城的壯麗景色外，還可欣賞獅子山、飛鵝山、九龍東部新的商業中心和住宅區的景緻。

Apart from the skyscrapers, Hong Kong has four big fishing villages......

-Aberdeen
Aberdeen is travelers' famous must-go point. Travelers can take sampan to see the fishermen, Jumbo Floating Restaurant and the most densely populated Island in the World, Ap Lei Chau.

-Shau Kei Wan
Fishermen supply seafood to the nearby wet market. The nice shopkeepers are willing to pose for you to take the photos. You can taste the famous fish ball noodle at the local tea cafes.

-Tai O
After saying hello to the Big Buddha, travelers can go to Tai O. Apart from visiting the dried seafood market and tasting the local snacks, travelers may take the boat ride to see the 'Venice in the East', which has lots of stilt-houses, and say hello to the Chinese White Dolphins, which are Hong Kong's Mascots.

-Cheung Chau
The car-free island is famous for its 'Bun Festival'. You can ride bicycle to go to the Tung Wan Beach to enjoy sea view. You can walk to the God of Warrior Temple in March to see the Sakura. After lots of exercise, you may have a good seafood dinner at the water front near the ferry pier.

除了高樓大廈，香港還有四大漁村……

-香港仔
是香港必到景點，遊客可坐舢舨遊漁村，除了漁船和住家艇，還有珍寶海鮮舫、深灣游艇會，香港仔對岸是小島鴨脷洲，島嶼雖小，但竟有十萬人居住，為世界之最。

-筲箕灣
在香港島東區，漁民為筲箕灣街市供應海鮮，市場內商販友善，遊客拍照，無任歡迎。拍了個夠，肚子餓了，可到東大街吃著名的魚蛋粉醫肚。

-大澳
位於大嶼山西北部，拜過大 佛才去就好。除了一遊海味市場和一嚐道地茶粿，也可乘小艇一遊「東方威尼斯」，看看建在水上的棚屋，碰碰運氣找找香港吉祥物–中華白海豚。

-長洲
以太平清蘸搶包山最有名，但平時登島，更可體驗悠閒的漁村風情。全島無車，可租單車代步，到東灣海灘看海景。春天三月登山到關公忠義亭可賞櫻花。累了可到碼頭附近食肆，一邊看漁村，一邊吃海鮮，一樂也！
