This fabulous tour, lasting about 8 hours, starts off by seeing the magnificent Parthenon at the Acropolis, built in the 5th century B.C.

Other highlights you will see and visit in Athens are: St. George Lycabettus - the highest point in the city with its panoramic view; the Panathiniakos Stadium - where the first modern day Olympics were held in 1896; the first university and academy of Athens; the changing of the guards at the President's Palace; and the Temple of Zeus.

A trip to Athens is not complete without a stroll in the citys' oldest neighborhood, Plaka, with its atmospheric maze of shop-filled streets.  There you will also see the Roman Agora, Tower of Winds and Ceramiko. 

The National Archaeological Museum OR the New Acropolis Museum is also included in this tour.  Both are ranked among the world's finest!  Enjoy a delicious lunch at a taverna NOT visited by the tourists.  There you will be able to try a wide variety of Greek dishes at very reasonable prices.  Many of my clients have told me that this was the best meal of ther trip!

Food Tour is a walking tour within the food market of Athens and the local stores offering the experience of what is called the "Green Treasure" of Greece such as its famous olive oil, quality wines, mushrooms, herbs and traditionally made pastas, hams, cheeses, aromatic vinegar and desserts. We will walk to the Meat - Fish - Vegetable market, we will visit Evripidou street (Street of the Herbs) where you will be guided to the hidden gems of the stores. We 'll enjoy a greek breakfast deserts as the locals do in a century-old cafe, we will visit a place where they cook selected coffee beans and they make fresh coffee (you enjoy espresso shots of how it is called best in Europe) and we 'll end our tour at the Deli stores of the historic center where you will have  olive oil, vinegar and delicacies tasting. In this tour we will focus on giving the best information and knowledge; not just about your first introduction in the world of Greek food but to a healthier way of life. All that Greece preserves can be found in this little piece of land that hosts the metropolitan city of Athens, 2 national parks, World Heritage monuments, amazing beaches and historic towns. You start day with the crown of Greek civilization the monumental Acropolis. Temple of Unknown soldier at Syntagma square where the brave greek presidential guards secure the Temple, see the change and admire the performance of the guards. Short stop at one of the numerous cafes of Attica coast admiring the views of the Saronic gulf. At the end of the tour driving through the beautiful landscapes of Attica we arrive at an Attica winery and you close your tour with  a wine tour enjoying some of the local wines.
