About Me

Hi friend,

how are you?

I am Xi, and my major is computer science. OK, it is not related with traveling. But no matter what you study or what you do, you can always love traveling right?

I came back to China from Germany after two years of a double degree exchange program. I like traveling so much and also did a lot when I was in Europe. Since I am back here in China, I have helped my friends and colleagues from Germany to travel in Shanghai and I find it very interesting. I like to help them organizing their tour and enjoy the time exploring the city together.

In my two years living in Berlin, I learned a lot about foreign culture and life style. I got to know a lot of new people and made several good friends, so I guess my character fits *foreigners* quite well. ;)

Besides, I have also represented my former employer, Fraunhofer Institute HHI, for several business contacts. Just want to mention it so that you know I can also handle serious situations.

Although I don't have an official license,  I am a native Chinese speaker and my English is fluent. I also gained a lot of experience from my own traveling. I believe we can still explore the city together and with me you can have an interesting, comfortable and pleasant tour. Feel free to contact me, I am glad to help you with any question. :)

Btw, I am also a half-professional photographer. :P

In March 2013 I visited China for the third time in 5 years. During my trip I also stayed in Shanghai to explore this fast changing city.

For China, Shanghai is a relatively international city. Nevertheless, as soon as one leaves the typical (and overran) tourist places and tries something a little bit more individual, the language barrier becomes more and more problematic. I knew that from my previous trips and also wanted to have the advantage of the knowledge only a local can provide.

That is why I looked for a travel guide and found Xi. After a short discussion about what I expect and hope of my trip to Shanghai, she made several recommendations of places and activities. Half of them I couldn’t found in any of my travel guide books. She helped me to find a reasonable hotel (wrt to cost and quality), as well as organizing tours like a boat tour down the Huangpu river to the beginning of the ocean. Shanghai can be explored on your own, but I believe all you will see then is only the surface of this city. I had a lot of fun as well as interesting insights to the Chinese culture. And Xis work and easygoing character were on of the major reasons for that.
