I traveled to Hanoi a few weeks ago to visit my stepson who was working there. I had time on my own during the days while he worked. While I am an experienced traveler who likes to roam around cities on my own, I thought it would make sense to have someone show me around during the first day. Anh was perfect and far exceeded my expectations! He meet me at my hotel the first morning. Before we set out, he suggested we sit down to plan our day to make sure that I was happy with the plan. We ended up including a good mix of sightseeing and just walking around with him explaining information about the city. Anh was knowledgeable and really a pleasure to be with. Originally, Anh had said he was booked for the other days I was in town, so we could only go around for one day. At the end of the first day, after really enjoying our visit and realizing how much I was learning from him, I told him that if his plans changed, he should contact me because I'd be happy to have him take me around again. As it turned out, he had a free afternoon later in the week, so texted me and suggested we could go to some villages outside of town if I wanted to get out of the city. We had a fabulous "off the beaten path" afternoon. Also, I had mentioned that I was interested in learning tai chi and had heard it was popular during mornings in the park. Anh had a friend who was a tai chi instructor, so he arranged for me to have a private lesson one morning, which was really one of the highlights of my week. Overall, I would highly recommend Anh to help with all aspects of planning a visit to Vietnam. I will recommend him to friends and hope to see him again on a future visit.
