Shane met us as planned and took us to our hotel, on the appointed day he turned up as arranged and took us to the Great Wall, Shane was very helpful and knowledgeable about Chinese history. He did have some problems finding our hotel and I would not say his English was fluent, however he amply compensated for that by being helpful in other ways.

We were unaware that the weekend plus Monday was some sort of holiday and that unbelievable whilst the banks were open they did not cash Travelers Cheques, Shane managed to persuaded one of the banks to change some in the end.

Shane was very informative on the Great Wall and answered all our many questions and arrived on time to take us to the airport. We never had the lunch that we paid for but everything else was as arranged. If you want a guide who is reliable then I would recommend Shane without hesitation.

I am Ipsita from India. I toured Beijing with my parents in end Aug-Sep. Because of language problem, I was looking for a tour guide to take us to Shidu, using public transport. I found Shane and he did a wonderful job. We trekked Shidu area for about 2 hrs. Shane is indeed very good-natured, patient, and explained us many things. He also gave us valuable tips for the rest of our tour of Beijing highlights, which we did on our own. Thanks to his English to Chinese translation, we managed to get the deposit in our Yikatong cards back ;-)

Shane replied to one of my requests with one of the few reasonable offers from the other Synotrip guides. He was prompt in all correspondence and very helpful with all my questions. After a few emails back and forth we then moved to a chat tool (QQ) and chatted for over 30min to iron out the plans for the trip. I have contacted Shane and he has replied promptly to all my queries.

I have now arranged for him to pick us up at airport and take us to our hotel, and then a day trip to the Wall and finally drop off at airport when we depart.

Everything seems fine at the moment and Shane is asking the right questions regarding Flights Times, Hotel details etc.
