This is Robert & Nancy, the storytellers from America! Hope you are well. Hope your mother is well. Hope your work as a tour guide is well. Nancy and I are coming to CHINA again! YAY! We have a short job in Beijing for 2 weeks. Any chance you'll be in Beijing (Nov 19- Dec 5). After this time we are going to take an introductory language course in Hainan for just 6 days! If we like this school we might come back in a future year to take a longer course.

We've been very busy since we last saw you. Busy with our community projects that although they don't make much money - they are very inspiring and fun with storytelling, good people, great stories... and even sometimes with great food!

We just hosted a concert in our home with visiting Asian artists from Tuva, Siberia. Wonderful artists who specialize in a vocal style known as throat singing... an amazing sound that few music cultures have. We also told Siberian folk tales.

My husband and I spent a day in Datong with Nancy as our guide. Nancy met us at the airport with a car and driver. We saw the Hanging Monastery, Yangang Caves and the Nine-Dragon screen. As a bonus, we had the opportunity to meet an elderly man and see his home in a cave alongside a major highway. Both Nancy and the driver were very friendly and went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our visit, pointing out things of interest and pulling over if I was trying to photograph something. Nancy is very knowledgeable about Datong, its history and the sites of interest in the area. She is well spoken and easy to understand. I would certainly recommend her as a guide.
