This beautiful bridge proudly represents one of the most famous Florentine landmarks. It goes over Arno River. It dates back to Medieval period and since then it has been used as a place where many merchants could offer their goods. Even though, at first, there were mainly butchers occupying the interior of this closed bridge, over the time other shops opened and today, there are mainly souvenir shops, arts stands and jewelers.  As it is the case with many old bridges, even Ponte Vecchio was built and rebuild several times. It was first built in the 10th century but it was destroyed by a flood, the same was the destiny of the second stone bridge. The current bridge was built in the 14th century and it is still standing still.
Today, this part of the city is one of the most visited by numerous tourists.
Florence has two other similar bridges, of course not the same and not as much crowded. These are Ponte Santa Trinita and Ponte alle Grazie.

Pitti Palace

Pitti Palace is a beautiful palace built in the renaissance style and it dates back to mid 15th century. As it is to assume, it got its name by a rich owner, a banker Luca Pitti. A century later, it was bought by word wide known noble family, the Medici and the palace became their residence.

Another important man set his foot in this palace. Napoleon used this palace as his base in the 18th century. The palace is open to the public and it contains some art galleries.

The palace has a beautiful large and decorated courtyard that leads to the garden.

Certainly, this palace is not to be missed when in Florence.

I believe that a real tourist should discover not only famous attractions but also he/she should touch real people and some hidden parts of the city and it would not be possible unless they walk between people; but walking could be boring and they couldn’t see most of places, that’s why I have better idea: Florence has a nice nature and beautiful view then going to short travel by bicycle for a whole day must be so exciting....Read more

DAY 3: PISA & CINQUE TERRE

. First stop is PISA, home of the must- visit Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Baptistry, Campo Santo and Duomo di Pisa (Pisa Cathedral). Here you will be free to walk around the square and enjoy taking as many funny pictures as your imagination can of the leaning tower. After Pisa we are heading to La Spezia train station where we will take the local trains that services the CINQUE TERRE, The Five Lands"; Riomaggiore, Manarola, Vernazza, Corniglia and Monterosso famous for their natural beauty, scenic trails, spectacular coast line and sunny beaches.
