When David Livingstone first discovered the Victoria Falls he was so amazed at such a wonder because in his life he had never seen such a beautiful attraction that he believed it could only have been gazed upon by angels in flight . In our culture the river is very sacred and has great significance to our cultural calender as it brings so much with it.... Not only is this wonder a sight but it is believed that catching a spray of the falls'mist will bring about good fortune and rejuvenation of life so be sure to join me aand catch a spray and rainbow of the Mighty Vitoria Falls whose roar and thunder can be heard for ten kilometres from the falls and the refreshing breeze cools the town.

David Livingstone set off in search of the "Mosi is Tonya" ( the smoke that thunders) he was taken to an island on a dugout canoe on November 16 1855, now known as the Livingstone Island where he had the opportunity to see the world's largest veil of falling water and wrote 'scenes so lovely must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight. The Victoria Falls was named after the Queen of England at the time Queen Victoria,is found 1000 km from its source and reaches the 1708 metre width brink and falls for 100 metres into its first gorge. During the peak season an average of 500 million litres of water per minute creates a veil of spray so sense it is sometimes difficult to see the falls as the mist and showers cover and fall continuosly. During the dry season the flow drops dramatically but one still gets a spray of the mist .
