Palais des Popes was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995. The construction of this important Gothic style building bagun in the 1250s to serve as a papal residence. The Palace is located on a rock overlooking Avignon and the River Rhone.

Over the centuries and with often changes in political government, the Palace was ransacked several times, damaged and restored. Popes didn´t live here all the time since they were between Rome and Avignon. 

Finally, Napoleon managed to take over the Palace completely. It is clear that the Palace had a turbulent history which combined with  its magnificent design makes it one of the most visited monuments in France. 

The Cathedrale Notre Dame de Paris is a Roman Catholic cathedral and one of the best examples of French Architecture. On the same location where today stands the cathedral, there was a Roman temple dedicated to Jupiter. Prior to the cathedral and after the temple, on the same location, there was located a Christian Basilica and a Romanesque church.

The construction of the cathedral started in the 12th century and finished in the 14th century. The stories of the Bible are retold through its portals, paintings and colorful glass windows.  The interior changed during the time and many new sculptures and paintings were added which augment the value of the cathedral.

There are two towers, one on the each side of the facade which top can be reached by climbing almost 400 stairs. A beautiful view on the river and Paris stretches from the top of one of the most beautiful cathedrals. 

The famous impressionist painter, Claude Monet, lived in this house for 43 years and he himself conceived his flower and water garden. The interior of the house still gives the impression of a family with many children. The house has blue sitting room, private apartments, the pantry, studio sitting room and the kitchen.

The colorful garden and the beautiful house are the work of art which definitely leave every visitor with beautiful memories. 

Rouen Cathedral (Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Rouen) is a Roman Catholic cathedral, and the seat of the Archbishop of Rouen. It is located in the historic part of Rouen on the right bank of the Siene River. The cathedral dates back to the 4th century and during the following centuries the cathedral was gradually extended.

Today the cathedral has the characteristics of Gothic and Renaissance style. The most famous paintings of the cathedral are the series of paintings by the impressionist painter Claude Monet. This series represents scenes at different time of the day. The paintings are estimated to over $40 million and the originals are held in different museums.

The facade of the cathedral has two towers, stained glass windows and impressive sculptures with numerous details that will amaze everyone.  

Touroirac Grottoes were discovered in 1995 close to Hautefors village, and Auvézere River. The cave coveres and area of 3 km. The rock foundations, stalactites and stalagmites shaped for millions of years are fascinating. There is also a stream running through the cave. The temperature in the cave is about 13-14 C. 

Chateau de Beynac is one of the best preserved castles in Dordogne region. It was built in the 12th century by the barons of Beynac. It is situated on a rock 200 m above the Dordogne River. Since its construction  it was renovated several times. 

This castle has a colorful history. Even Richard the Lionheart conquered this castle but his occupation lasted for a short period of time. A wonderful view stretches over the river from the castle. Chateaux of Fayrac, Castelnaud and Morqueyssac are also visible from here.

From the grounds of the castle one can enter the Beynac church. The interior of the castle has many interesting rooms, salons, dungeons, kitchens, toilets and the frescoes dating from the 15th century.

The owners together with the Ministry of Culture and Communication help the renovation of the Castle.
