Born in 1304 in the old town of Tangier called Medina,Ibn Batouta was a contemporary of Marco-Polo; He left his hometown at the age of 21 in order to return in his fifties.When he came back, he didn’t bring gold or precious stones, but the precise memories of his trips of 3 decades around the world. In his book called “Rihla” in Arabic, “Travels,” Ibn Batouta tells us about the religions, customs and mysteries of the territories he visited, which in our present day correspond to 44 countries and a route of 120 000 km. He did most of his trip on foot, from Tangier to China and from the Black Sea to Eastern Oriental Africa, then back to Tangier.Ibn Batouta took another trip, visiting the different towns in the north and south of Morocco, and then he crossed the Strait of Gibraltar to visit the Kingdom of Granada in Spain.
In his memory the international airport of Tangier and a boat that links Spain to Tangier took his name. A dome was erected in the same quarter where he was born in the old Medina of Tangier.

Meet at your accommodation at 10 am or elsewhere by prior arrangement. See part of the new city passing by the beach front where almost of the restaurants and night clubs are located, then cross the main avenue of Mohammed V to get to the 9th April Square by the main gate entrance into the Medina (old city). Visit the Anglo Saxon church of St Andrew then visit of the market at the Gran Socco before getting into the narrow alleys of the old city and the Petit Socco. Visit a 17th century Sultan’s palace that is currently a museum containing many fascinating antiquities including Roman remains. From Bab Bhar (the gate into the sea), you can see the terrace overlooking the straits of Gibraltar, continue down through the labyrinth streets and alleyways of the medina following the Matisse Route (which takes in points of interest related to the famous artist Henry Matisse). Finally visit the Mendoubia.

From the port-city we will drive through the new town to see the European quarter built when Tangier was an international town (1923-1956) then to the residential area called California, where we can see several Royal Palaces and some celebrities's homes. The next step to Cap Spartel (the nearest point to Europe where the Atlantic and the Mediterranean sea join together. Then The visit of Hercules caves (Prehistorically site), after we will drive to the Casba, entrance of the medina (old town) for a walking tour to discover the real Tangier with it ramparts and medieval doors and it fascinating souks (markets) for some shopping if interested.
By the entrance of the old Town (Medina) we can stop by a typical Moroccan restaurant to taste the famous Moroccan cuisine if you wish to.
Our visit will be flexible; we will stop from time to time to takes some pictures at the panoramas on the way and also at the camel site.

DAY 2 : FES - IFRANE – ZIZ VALLEY -ERFOUD - RISSANI – MERZOUGA CAMEL TREKKING
After breakfast our private Morocco Tour continues and we will drive to Ifrane and Azrou passing the Middle Atlas mountains. We will stop at the cedar forests to watch local apes. We head to Midelt , capital of apples in Morocco , then we pass Ziz Valley , then towards city of Errachidia. We’ll continue our private Morocco tour to Erfoud, Here we may explore fossil products and factories, local souk in Rissani and after we reach Merzouga we will ride camels to a desert Berber camp located in the middle of the Erg Chebbi desert. The camel ride takes about 45 min. We will have a dinner in desert camp and we will enjoy this night in desert tents with Berber drums music under the tent.
DAY 3: MERZOUGA DESERT-TODGHA GORGES - DADES
Today we watch desert sunrise and then we ride camels back to the hotel for shower. We depart to Rissani and then we drive through palm trees groves to reach Todgha Gorge where we may walk in narrow canyon. After that we head to Boumalne Dades and we spend this night in local riad/ hotel.
DAY 4 : DADÈS GORGES- SKOURA -OUARZAZATE - MARRAKECH
After breakfast we continue our private Morocco tour from Dadès Gorges passing through El Kelaa Magona, famous for its local rose products. We pass the Valley of Roses and the road of a 1000’s Kasbahs before we reach Ouarzazate and then Ait Benhadou village. We will explore the UNESCO site. Then we will drive via Tichka pass to Marrakech.
