Old City God's (Chenghuang) Temple (Lao Chenghuang Miao)

In this one day tour, you will visit the highlights of Shanghai in Puxi part of the city. Puxi is the old part, where you can still see a lot of the history of Shanghai. You will get a nice overview of the history, but also get a glimpse about how life is in Shanghai nowadays.

I will take you to some of the famous places like People Square, Nanjing Road, Yu Yuan garden and Jing'An temple. But I will also take you to some of the more hidden places like The Propaganda poster Exhibition and the Cricket market. Here you can see the real-life of Chinese people in Shanghai. And of course, we will also have a taste of the famous Shanghai food at lunchtime. In this tour, we will travel by metro/subway and taxi and will do some walking.

ITINERARY

Pick you up from your hotel.

- The tour will start at Peoples Square the real centre of Shanghai. 
The first stop on Peoples Square is the Shanghai Urban Planning exhibition.
The second stop will be the Shanghai museum.
- Jing'an temple:
This temple was first built in 247 AD and was rebuilt in 1983.
- We have a local lunch
- Propaganda Poster art Art Centre:
This centre is a museum exhibiting posters from the Maoist period of communist China. You can learn a lot about our modern history.
- Visit the cricket market. This is real Chinese culture
- Visit Yuan Garden:
This is a Ming dynasty creation, surrounded by high skyscrapers, then visit the ancient Shanghai Old Street.
- Walk over the Bund:
Here you can see the famous Shanghai skyline.- After the Bund we walk over Nanjing Pedestrian street back to Peoples Square. Nanjing Road is one of the busiest shopping streets in the world.

And finally, I bring you back to your hotel.

We would visit the following places at Shanghai:

1.Shanghai Yu garden(ticket included),400 years old history,here you can enjoy the ancient chinese architecture,local snacks and different artcraft.& City god temple(ticket included)    (3 hours)

2.Shanghai people square(free) & Shanghai museum(free, need to queue). Shanghai Museum is a museum of Chinese ancient art, which is located on the People's Square of Huangpu District. Shanghai museum was founded in 1952 on Nanjing West Road. The building has a round top and square base, symbolizing the ancient Chinese perception of the world as "sky is round and the earth square". With an area of 2,800 square meters, the museum is separated into several exhibition rooms to display the ancient bronze, porcelain and earthen wares, Chinese painting and the carvings. (2 hours)

3. Nanjing East Road(free), the most famous pedestrian street in China. It starts at people's square, ends at the Bund. When People walk on the street will recall the feature of the Time Square in New York. This road is the symbol of Shanghai as an international,modern, vibrant city. & Shanghai Bund(free). Located on the center of Shanghai, the Bund houses 52 buildings of different architectural styles like Renaissance, Baroque, Gothic. Thus the Bund got a nickname the wold Expo of the architecture. (2 hours)

4.Oriental Pearl TV Tower and Environs （If you want to enter the tower, it will need extra 160 RMB, not included）, the Chinese style tower, can climb to the top to get the view of the whole city. This area is Shanghai World Financail Center, and the symbol of China's speedy economy. We can do a riverside promenade. (2 hours)

5.Shikumen in Tianzifang(free).As the featured residence of Shanghai, Shikumen appeared in 1860 and it combines the western and eastern architectural styles. The houses of Shikumen are two-floored with a yard. Behind the yard is the living room. Tianzifang is a tourist destination which preserve local Shikumen houses, some of which have become craft stores, coffee shops and trendy art studios.(2 hours)

6.Qibao ancient water town(free), a small water town near Shanghai. If you do not have time to visit the other famous water town, we could choose this one. (2 hours)

4.The price is a stair-step price depend on the number of your tour group

If you have more than 4 people, the price is 50 dallors per person;

If you have 3 people, the price is 60 dallors per person;

If you have 2 people, the price is 80 dallors per person;

If you are alone, the price is 140 dallors;

Shanghai, a city which you must come at least once in your life. All kinds of things happening in this 

city. This time we will visit two famous places in Shanghai. 

Day 1-- In the morning , after a nice meal, we will start our tour to the Chenghuang Temple which  is located

south of Yuyuan Gardan. There used to be a temple to the local deity, whick the inhabitants believed

would protect them, in every city. The city deities were frequently real persons to whom the town owed

something. Today, an arts and crafts store is in the temple. Then, we will visit Waitan, another beautiful

sight in Shanghai.

Day 2--We will begin our tour with visiting Yuyuan Garden,a  high official had it designed in the Suzhou

style as a private garden and built from 1559-- 1577. After lunch, we will continue our tour to visit the

Oriental Pearl Tower which is also famous all over the world. You can take stroll and take photos as 

you want.

Pick up from your hotel lobby at 09:00am in Shanghai downtown and transfer to Shanghai Museum. The museum has a collection of over 120,000 pieces, including bronze, ceramics, calligraphy, furniture, jades, ancient coins, paintings, seals, sculptures, minority art and foreign art. It has eleven galleries and three special temporary exhibition halls.(40minutes)

Then visit to Yu Garden. The Yu Gardens are a classical landscape in the Southern Chinese style with a history of more than 400 years. Pavilions, halls, rockeries and ponds display the finest in landscaping from the Southern style as seen in the Ming and Qing dynasties. More than 40 landscapes were ingeniously separated by latticed walls, winding corridors, and lattice windows.

Walking to The Shanghai Chenghuang Temple, which is a Taoist temple located at Shanghai City in East China. The Chenghuang Temple was first constructed during the Yongle reign (1403-1424) of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).

Lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch, visit to Xintiandi. Xin Tian Di attracts the eyes of people from all over the world. Famous stars open their restaurants or shops here, which become good places for fans to communicate with their idols. Except for that, the fascinating cabaret and cellar dinning room of the French restaurant, the inspiring rock music played by the Japanese music restaurant and the folk performance of South America in the Brazilian restaurant leave people with great impressions.

Then move on to visit Shanghai World Financial Center. Standing in the center of Lujiazui Finance & Trade Zone in Pudong, Shanghai World Financial Center (SWFC) was completed in August 28, 2008, being the tallest skyscraper in China surpassing its neighbor Jinmao Tower. Having 101 floors with a height of 492 meters (about 1,614 feet), it ranked the top in the heights of roof and usable floor by the time when it was built, announced by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH).

Be driven back to your Shanghai hotel after the day trip.

Zhujiajiao Has Long History, Zhujiajiao has formed village 1700 years ago, and has become town in Wanli Period of Ming Dynasty. So far there are the ancients and tools people used 5000 years ago found in Zhujiajiao.

ZHUJIAJIAO IS FLOURISHING Zhujiajiao is famous with rice market, so far there are a lot of flourishing marks : Daqing Post office, Rice and Oil shop, Bank, Electronics factory and old real estate.

Architectures of Ming and Qing Dynasty stand by the river, 36 stone bridges still across the rivers.

Chenghuang Temple
