Nam Shang Wai
Nam Shang Wai in Yuen Long district is a wetland area, that consists mainly of abandoned shrimp ponds (also known as "gei wai"). It is now a haven for all kinds of bird species that come to feed on the fish and other animals that live in these ponds.
The area is popular with cyclists, and is also frequented by photographers doing bridal photos, model shoots and cosplayers.

The afternoon we will take a cycling tour of Nam Shang Wai, one of the best wetland sites of Hong Kong, consisting mainly of abandoned shrimp ponds. Mangrove forests can be seen as well here. Access to this area is via a small hand operated ferry.
The itinerary is dependent on the tide, as the wetland park is best visited during low tide, so the mud flats are dry and the fiddler crabs, mud skippers and other animals that live in the intertidal zone are visible. Morning and afternoon may be swapped for this reason.
Tour cost includes guide fee.
Extra cost: taxi from your hotel to Tin Shui Wai, bicycle rent about $150 per person, lunch about $50-100 per person.
