About this place

Hok Tau Reservoir (Chinese: 鶴藪水塘) is a small irrigation reservoir in the northeastern New Territories, Hong Kong. The Tan Shan River flows through the reservoir.

It was originally built as irrigation reservoir, providing irrigation water to farmers in the northern New Territories, but has largely lost that function due to the demise of farming in Hong Kong. It is a great starting point for hikes in the area.
