What are the Four Treasures of the Study?

Traditionally the four treasures of the study are a brush pen, an ink-stick , paper and an ink-stone.

These four items are indispensable to any traditional Chinese scholar. With these four tools, Chinese painters or calligraphists are able to create the beauty of Chinese art. For this reason , Chinese artists attach importance to the four items and call them the four treasures of the study.
