Merlion has become the representative of Singapore
The Merlion is a fictional fish lion animal.In 1964 designed by Fraser Mr Brunner who was Aquarium curator of the Van Kleef.Two years later by Singapore tourism board used as a symbol, the statue is 8.6 meters tall, weighing 70 tons, the lion's mouth jets of water, by sculptor, Mr. Linlangxin and his two children together in 1972. The lion sculpture fish body sitting in it on the Merlion, its design concept is to combine the reality and legend : Lion represents the legendary "lion city", as the statue of the fishtail shape, floating swimming in layers of waves, both representative of Singapore from the fishing port into commercial properties, but also a symbol of the ancestors who travel across the seas, work very hard to make a living.
