DAY 1 HANOI

Welcome to Hanoi, an oriental capital city of Vietnam. Arrival and transfer to hotel. The rest of the day offers free time for you to explore the wide tree lined avenues, beautiful lakes, ancient pagoda’s and the thriving historic old city, all easily navigated on foot. Overnight Hanoi

DAY 2 HALONG BAY CRUISE

This morning a scenic drive leads us to the stunningly beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Site of Halong Bay. Boarding a Halong Bay Cruise to sail through the emerald waters soaking up the panoramic vista of the thousand or so karst limestone islands that stud the bay.

Later opt for a refreshing swim in one of the many sheltered coves before taking row boats to the pristine ‘Dark & Bright Lagoon’. Tonight, there’s a Vietnamese cooking demonstration held on the sundeck before an impressive seafood dinner is served. Overnight sleep on board

DAY 3 HALONG BAY – HANOI – NIGHT TRAIN TO HUE

Start the day with a Tai Chi class on the sundeck following by breakfast, after exploring a lofty grotto hidden beneath towering cliffs while Kayaking. After lunch, we drive back to Hanoi spend an hour or so exploring the Hanoi Old Quarter with an exciting cyclo ride before board an overnight train to Hue in central Vietnam

DAY 4 VISIT HUE

Spend the day visiting Hue Imperial citadel, royal tombs and the Nguyem empire dynasty, tonight we enjoy cruising through the scenic perfume river, overnight in Hue

DAY 5 HUE – HOI AN

Off to Hoi An for a short drive, en-route we stop for refreshing swimming in the My Khe Beach, arrive in Hoi An by afternoon, check in and short rest after we have a walking tour around the old town visiting UNESCO heritage sites, overnight Hoi An

DAY 6 CYCLING TO HOI AN COUNTRYSIDE

Spend a day and we visit atmospheric Tra Que village while cycling to the Hoi An’s countryside, spend time to visit the village, farming and gardening with locals and or join the cooking class – in the afternoon we join one of many optional tours such as fishing, farming, lantern making and more, Overnight Hoi An

DAY 7 FLIGHT TO SAIGON

Flight to Saigon, arrive and transfer to hotel, after short rest our guide will pick you up for a sightseeing to visit central post office and the Notre Dame cathedral, war remnant museum, reunification palace and in the afternoon we visit bustling Binh thanh market. Overnight Saigon

DAY 8 MEKONG DELTA – CAN THO

An early morning pick up for a scenic drive to the Delta opf Mekong referred to as the ‘rice bowl’ of Vietnam, upon arrival we take sampan from Vinh Long and we’ll cruise downstream from Cai Be through the maze of coconut waterways watching the hubbub of daily life on the river. Passing colorful trading boats, house boats and children swimming we stop to visit some of the local cottage industries that produce popcorn, coco candies and paper along the way. DAY 9 HO CHI MINH CITY

Today we visit the ever lively Cai Rang floating market. Watch as melons, pineapples, fresh greens, sacks of rice and children’s toys get tossed from one sampan to another at great heights and speed before driving back to Saigon.Arrive and free afternoon on your own

DAY 10 HO CHI MINH CITY – DEPARTURE

Free day at your own exploration until our drive transfer you to the airport for the departure flight.

On arrival in Halong City board the Chinese junk for your cruise on Halong Bay, famous for its lime karsts jutting out of the green waters creating a spectacular vista as nearly 2000 islands fill the bay. A UNESCO listed World Heritage site since 1994, Halong Bay means "Bay of the Descending Dragon". Legend has it that a long time ago when the Vietnamese were fighting off foreign invaders, the gods sent a family of dragons to assist in the fight. During the battle the dragons spat out jewels that would later become the islands that now are scattered around the bay.

Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi - Halong Bay (L, D)

Depart Hanoi around 8am, the drive to Halong Bay is around 3.5 hours (stopping along the way for a toilet break and a coffee). We arrive at the port at midday where you'll board the junk boat and sit down to a lovely seafood feast while cruising into the bay. After lunch visit a limestone cave before finding a secluded bay to anchor for the night. There will be a chance to swim in the emerald waters before dinner.

Accommodation for the night is in private, ensuite timber cabins with air-con and hot showers.

Day 2: Halong Bay (B, L, D)

Awake the next morning to the lapping waters and enjoy a breakfast overlooking the bay. Either relax on the boat or explore the bay with kayaks. In the afternoon cruise around the bay at a leisurely pace, stopping to explore more caves. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon on the boat reading, sunbathing or swimming before a decadent seafood meal.

Day 3: Halong Bay - Hanoi (B, L)

Today we continue to cruise around the bay to find secluded spots for swimming and kayaking. At around midday you'll return to the main harbor and set off for Hanoi. Along the way you'll stop at Yen Duc village, for tea and a water puppet show, before arriving in Hanoi late in the afternoon
