The distance between the two cities is only 60 Km. They are both considered as the best vacation cities in the north of Morocco where the climate is wild and the population is composed mostly from Andalusia, Arabs and Jewish whom arrived 600 years ago from Spain as well as the locals that are called Berbers.

The Medina of Tetouan is surrounded by 5 km of walls and a superficies of 50 hectares; it appears as one of the smallest of the kingdom. With its two typical colors that are white and green, and its Moorish architecture, however it is one of the best sites to visit in the north of Morocco. Since 1997 it was named as a World Heritage by the UNESCO.
While Tangier is a city that you can't count, but visit.
