How to survive from Tiger Leaping Gorge.

The Tiger Leaping Gorge which is the most popular hiking trek in China, attractive more and more trekkers from all over the world each year.At the same time more and more liives sacrified in this 26km trek. Dangerous could be every where if not prepare properly. Based on my personal experience and knowlege about this area.I'd like to give some advice:

1. Don't hike there in Heavely rain. 80% of the year's rain and most of the landslide comes in the rainy season, from June to  September.  The rain also makes the narrow trek slipery, falling off the

trek on the cliff is something the same of that dropping from the roof of 20-story  building.

2. Don't risk  yourself by going out  of the trek.

Following a  wrong trek may lead to the forest up the mountain or down to the Big road.

Climbing upto the rocks by the trek could also dangerous, they may just fell off from the mountaion

  last night,and still moving.

3. Don't take pictures and speak on Mobile when you are moving. A tour guide from SKorea just lost

his life 3 month ago,He dropped while speaking on Mobile . Hiking there is also a challenge for a  tour guide.

4.  Don't carry too much during the hiking, leave your luggage in a  Caffee ahead of the trek. They

may charge you 5 Yuan for eack piece.

5.Don't go there alone. Robbery is rare, but it still happens to single some tims. You may not find

any people during 3 hours in some places away from a village.

6. Young guys at their 20s should be careful there, especially Isreali man who just finished

their university and military service.  It's just a trip not a fighting, slow down!

7.  Must arrive at a guest House or place of safe accommodation  before the sunset, never hike   when it's dark.

    It's a very importent point !!!

It gets dark before 8:30pm in summer time and 7:00 pm in Winter there.

Most popular 4 guesthouses on the way.

#Naxi familly Guesthouse: 2 hours hiking of moderate Activity level with some clumbing.

very good location just against the Jade Dragon Snow Mountaion, but unfortunatly the beds

   there are very hard.

    # Tea and Horse Guest house.

     4.5hours from Naxi familly Guesthouse.

28bends lie between these 2 guest house,it's the most difficulty part of the whole trek.

Celebrate your survival with a foot massage in Tea and Horse GH is a very good nightlife.

But I just hope they could make their Kitchen more neat and tidy.

#  Half way Guest house.

3 hours from Tea and Horse Guesthouse with the easiest activity level of the whole trek.

The Guesthouse is located in a peaceful village on the mountain side, clean and warm  welcome host. It's so popular that some day you can't get a dorm sometimes in a  busy  season.

# Tina's Guest house is at the end of the high trek with 2 hours going down  the mountain from

Half way. It's located by the big road and just up to

the Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge. It's a nice place if you don't want to hike so much or your

time is limited, just take a mini van from Qiaotou, the begainning of the treck and follow the

big road ,just 1 hours you will get Tina's.

Do go down to the Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge from Tina's,it's amazing view, but be very careful,

as it's one of the most dangerous point s!

#  Bridge Caffee Guesthouse.  250meters down the road from the Tina's and just cross the

bridge,it's there! My favorate place.

This Guesthouse & Caffee is a greatest Wonder in Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge. It's owned by a Japanese Lady and her  Naxi familly, clean and tidy, good food!

Either from the Caffee or from the guest room, you will get the best view the Gorge ,the Running

Yangtze and the Huge Mountain both side.
