Day 1: Tiananmen Square* Forbidden City , Old Hutongs ,Temple of Heaven

Moring

We visit Tiananmen Square first , The world's largest public square.Explore the sites around the square with opportunities to take some amazing pictures. You also could see The Great Hall of People on the west, which is the national congress hall, also well know as China “white house”.

Next , we walk to Forbidden city from Tiananmen Gate.  Forbidden City is the biggest and best preserved imperial palace in the whole world. We will spend a couple of hours wandering around this amazing example of Imperial architecture and learning about the history of the palace.Total , we will spent here around 2.5 hours

After Forbidden City visiting, drive 15 minuets to Old Hutong ( HouHai area) , Hutong has over than 700 years history. But most of the houses was restored. Lots of local people still live in this area for generations to generations. You will take rickshaw to visit this old part Beijing. You  also have chance to visit the local family home and chatting with the locals.  We call it one hour rickshaw tour.( Include walking)  The rickshaw tour company will arrange local guide for you . Some of them English not excellent , but they all local guide . They know lots of local history .(If the Hutong local guide is not available, our guide will be your Hutong guide as well).We will book 1 hour rickshaw tour for you ( most tour company just 30 minutes rickshaw tour )

Lunch,After Hutong visiting, will will take a 30 minuets ride to local Chinese restaurant nearby Temple of Heaven.

Afternoon

Then we will spend around 1.5 hours visiting Temple of Heaven.It was first constructed in 1420, the 18th year of the reign of Ming emperor Yongle，and was extended and renovated during the reigns of Ming emperor Jiajing and Qing emperor Qianlong． Before you visiting the Temple of Heaven, you will come across lots of local people doing their morning exercises, including playing tai chi, singing cage birds, and kicking shuttlecocks. You can join them to share the happiness with the local people

Day 2: Mutianyu Great Wall , Summer Palace

Morning

Mutianyu is a section of the Great Wall  located in HuaiRou County 75km northeast of down town Beijing. It takes about 1.5 hour  riding from the down town Beijing to this section. After arrival , it will spend around half an hour to reach on great wall , the half an hour spending for buying tickets, going to toilet, walking to cable car station or chairlift station. We will spendaround 2 hours visiting great wall.

Lunch , it will have many options after great wall walking. You may choose have rest at Subway restaurant,enjoy the table under the sunshine. You may choose dumpling restaurant nearby great wall car parking place . Even so tourist place ,their is reasonable price .Or you could have lunch on the way to Summer Palace .It will take around 1.5hours to Summer Palace from great wall .

Afternoon  

The Summer Palace ,a summer resort for Imperial Family Members~considered the best preserved Imperial Park.it was the royal garden in the past time. There are beautiful many pavilions, mansions, temples, bridges and huge lake, and corridors. While the Long Corridor is the longest one in the world which is on the Genuineness World Records. You will also see famous Seventeen Arches Bridge, Qingyan Stone Boat, Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill .Here we will spend around 2 hours in Summer Palace. After this we will take you back to hotel.  If you want to have a short stop at Olympic center , we could do it as well.

Pick up from your hotel lobby at 8:00am.Transfer to Hutong area by car, walk to explore the most beautiful Hutong area in Beijing. Sightseeing of inner Hutong by rickshaw(40 minutes). Visit a local family and learn about Chinese calligraphy writing and painting(1hour) and lay your hands on D.I.Y Chinese dumplings(2hours), enjoy these with other Chinese dishes and this will be your lunch.

In the afternoon, climb to the top of Drum tower and watch the fantastic drum beating performance(1.5hours). Return to your hotel.

Chinese calligraphy writing:

Learning Chinese calligraphy can be started at any age if we know the right methods. Adults and kids can both make astonishing progress if we can apply the correct methods - it does not matter when we actually started. What matters more is how well we understand the basic principles and apply them carefully. Besides, we have lots of time in our life to learn over and over again. In fact, some masters of Chinese calligraphy and brush painting actually started later in their life.

D.I.Y Chinese dumplings:

To make Chinese dumplings, first of all, chop the meat into pieces and mash them, then add salt, sesame oil, soy sauce, ginger, scallions, Chinese cabbage and MSG if you like. Mix thoroughly the ingredients; add two spoonful of water if necessary.In a big bowl, add water to flour gradually. Mix and knead by hand to form soft dough, then cover it with towel and put it aside for about an hour. Then scatter some dry flour on the board, knead and roll it into a sausage like dough about 5 centimeters in diameter, then chop it into small pieces. Press each piece with your hand and get a pancake. Finally, to hold the pancake with your palm and put the filling in the center and wrap into half-moon shaped and seal the edges.

Take rickshaw to go through the hutong area. Visit local quart yard family. 

Take a view of the bar street, local shopping street.

Clime on the bell tower or drum tower.

After tour, you will be transferred to your hotel.

If you like chinese food, you can choose to go to the hutong family, follow the local hutong lady to learn one dish, and learn how to make dumplings.  just need another $30 per person.
