About this place

Located in the western part of downtown Beijing, the White Pagoda Temple, or Baita Si, is one of the most famous structures in the city. Originally known as Miao Ying Si, the temple was later renamed the White Pagoda Temple because of the white pagoda inside. The White Pagoda, designed in the shape of an inverted alms bowl, is now the biggest and oldest preserved Tibetan Buddhist pagoda in China.
