Descriptions:

Follow the massive Minjiang River up towards North, you may enter a minority area, where Tibetan and Qiang People live. It is said that ancient Sichuanese come from that area. Only two hundred kilometers away from Chengdu, you may get to Mengtun County, the nearest Tibetan area. People who live there belong to Jiarong Tibetan Tribe. In Mengtun County, there are so many valleys and rivers scatter in this area. On this three day trip, we may firstly take you to visit Dujiangyan Irrigation Project to learn about why Sichuan gains the name of the Land of Abundance, after that we follow the massive Minjiang River up to Mengtun County, en route visiting Taoping Qiang village. During our short stay in Mengtun, we will not only have a one day leisure walking tour in Gaoqiao Gorge, but visit the local Tibetan villages and the Tibetan Temples.

Day 1               Chengdu/Mengtun Village (Gaoqiao Valley Hiking)

In the morning we drive about 3hours to Mengtun County, the hometown to Jiarong Tibetan Tribe.

Gaoqiao Valley is one of the most popular destinations in Mengtun. There are still some Tibetan villages scatter in this valley.

This afternoon we will walk in this valley, we will walk into the virgin forest, visit the Tibetan castles and enjoy the beautiful view in it.

Day 2             Mengtu County to Chengdu Via Taoping Qiang Village

In the morning we still have some leisure time walk around the villages, and we may also explore the Tibetan Temples. And after that we may move to Taoping Qiang Viallge, where Qiang people live. Qiang People are famous for making Qiang embroidery. They are regarded as the ones who live beyond the clouds.

Late afternoon we go back to Chengdu, the end of trip.
