In the front part of the imperial necropolises, there usually is a Sacred Way (or Divine Road) which means the road leading to heaven. The Emperor, known as the Son of the Heaven, who came from Heaven to his country through the Sacred Way, also deservedly would return to Heaven through this road.

Great Wall of Mutianyu: Your opportunity to see one of the Great Wonders of the World. This section is more beautiful and less crowded than the ones closer to Beijing giving you more time to appreciate this massive construction.

Scared Way: The 7-km scenic drive has 18 pairs of life-size marble animal statues that guard the thirteen Ming tombs. This is the "sacred way" the deceased emperors were carried to their tombs.
Ming Tombs of Dingling: The 13th Emperor of the Ming Dynasty Zhu Yijun was buried together with his two empresses. It is the only tomb that has been excavated and can be seen.
