Muji people of the Yi ethnic group

Muji is a branch of the Yi ethnic minority living in Lengquan Town of Mengzi City, Honghe Prefecture.

In the Yi ethnic language, Muji means “people who live on the frontiers of the heaven”, and there is also Chinese translation version which puts it as "people living in the basin".

Muji people like wear blue or white coats, black or blue trousers. And assimilated by the Han Chinese culture, they wear Han ethnic costumes most of the time, except the traditional embroidered aprons and turbans worn by ladies.
