Jingpo ethnic "Gantuocong"

Gantuocong in the Jingpo ethnic language means dating in the public house. It is a way the Jingpo youths get involved in romance.

In the Jingpo ethnic customs, in the public house one boy can date several girls and vice versa. But normally they are dating in couples, whispering or chitchatting freely around fire pits.

The Gantuocong of the Jingpo newly weds

After the Jingpo bride is received to the groom’s house, the groom and bride will drink the "cross cup wine", and then the groom's father will tell his daughter-in-law the history to his family, while the mother will give the bride and help her wear a neck ring.

And at the midnight of the wedding day, both the bride and groom deserve the last chance to date in the public house.
