About this place

To celebrate the tenth anniversary of Hong Kong’s establishment as a special administrative region (HKSAR) a pair of giant pandas were specially delivered to Hong Kong. Offered by the Central People’s Government, the pandas arrived safely at OceanPark after their trip from Sichuan.

Born in 2005, the panda’s names, Le Le and Ying Ying, mean happiness and abundance. Their names were selected from an extensive public competition and announced on the same day they became Hong Kong residents. Pandas are often used by Beijing as symbols of diplomatic goodwill.

The pandas will be housed alongside An An and Jia Jia, OceanPark’s resident pandas. They will all dwell together in a newly renovated Giant Panda Habitat at OceanPark. This new habitat has 3 separate activity zones, and is designed to reflect the Panda’s natural ecological environment. Book tickets to see them now at Ocean Park, because these Pandas are so adorably cute they would even turn a serial killer’s heart to mush.
