Constanta is a two- millennia old city striving to find its rightful place in the 21st century. Its historical quarter bears the marks of all the various peoples and ethnicities that lived here throughout the centuries: Turks, Armenians, Greeks, Jews, Russians, Tartars, Bulgarians, French, English, Italian, Germans. Fifty years of communism scattered them across the globe – some went back to their countries, others crossed the ocean to find their freedom, a few stayed behind to keep the community together.

Our walking tour will take us into the narrow streets of the historical district of Constanta and we will discover the secret of this amazing mix of cultures and civilizations. On the list of places to see there are the worship places of all the ethnic minorities of the city: the Greek Orthodox Church, the Armenian Church, the Jewish Synagogue, the Turkish Mosque (visit inside), The Catholic Church, The Romanian Orthodox Cathedral (visit inside). Listen to captivating stories to make sense of this overwhelming mix and take it all in. Relax by the statue of the great Roman poet Ovid, take your time and sip a cup of coffee in front of the beautiful building of the Archaeological Museum and then head to the Black Sea shores to see the grandiose Casino and its lovely promenade.

* Please NOTE that the cruise terminal is located deep within the port of Constanta and about 2 km away from the city. Guests who want to reach the city from the cruise terminal may decide to either walk or take the shuttle bus. For details about schedules of shuttle buses please contact your ship. Private transportation from and to the cruise terminal can be arranged on request at an extra cost of USD 20/ person.
