ANCIENT DELOS

Delos was in the ancient times a very important place of worship, dedicated to god Apollo. It also became an important commercial port, specializing in the slave trade. Furthermore, Delos was the first ever duty free place in the world, and the first melting pot in history.

Start your tour from the town's main square, where your guide will make an introduction to the history of Delos, and then proceed to one of the three discovered residential areas. Visit ancient houses (Delos is the only place in Greece where ancient residences have been discovered!), shops, the theater, the public water cistern. Then go to the area of the temples and see what's left from Apollo's temple, from his gigantic statue, pass by other temples and shrines, see the huge "Slave" Market, the Terrace of the Lions, the Sacred Lake (where according to the myth Apollo was born), the Wine Market, the Shrine of Dionysus, the Minoan Fountain, and more. At the end visit the Museum.

The guided tour on Delos takes two hours approximately. 

Sunscreen, hats, flat shoes, bottle of water recommended.

Price is 350 US$ (the guide's fee only). The price is the total price regardless of the number of participants.

Not included are: the round trip ferry ticket (17 Euros per person), and the entrance to the archeological park of Delos (5 Euros per person).

The ferry from Mykonos to Delos takes 40 minutes approximately.

MYKONOS TOWN WALKING TOUR

Meet your guide at Mando Square and listen to him telling you the story of Lady Mando, the island's heroine. Then get into the labyrinth of Mykonos Town to explore the town's most important places, monuments and landmarks. Walk down the narrow and winding streets, meant to confuse the pirates, and let your guide narrate the town's history from the the Venetian occupation to the time of the pirates, and from the War of Independence to the tourist boom of the 1960's.

See the famed windmills, Mykonos' most important landmark, the so called Little Venice, the Paraportiani church, the most photographed of the island, walk through the main shopping area, visit an old orthodox church, were the guide will explain to you the basics of this faith, visit Lena's House, a bourgeois house from the 18th century, the Town Hall, the fish market, the waterfront with its many cafes and restaurants, and more. 

Duration 2 hours.

Price is 150 Euros (group price), regardless of the number of the participants. There are no extras to be charged.

MYKONOS ISLAND TOUR

Meet your licensed guide at your hotel and board the car to drive around Mykonos. The guide will narrate the history of Mykonos from the ancient times to the Venetian occupation to the era of the pirates, and from the War of Independence to the tourist boom of the 1960's. 

Visit Saint John's beach, the only place of Mykonos from where you can see in a distance the sacred island of Delos, see the place where many scenes of the movie Shirley Valentine were shot, and also the twin private chapels of St John, while your guide will explain for you the phenomenal number of private chapels and their significance.

Drive to Ano Mera (the second biggest town) to visit an old 16th c. monastery, the church of which is famous for its unique woodwork as well as for a very old and supposedly miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary. The guide will take the opportunity to explain to you the basics of this faith as well as the all the symbols you will see in the church.

Visit Kalafati beach, one of the most popular beaches of the island, famous for all water sports facilities.

Do a complete walking tour of Mykonos Town to see its most important monuments and landmarks, including the famed windmills, Little Venice, the monument of the local heroine Lady Mando, the Town Hall, Paraportiani church, the most  photographed one, the waterfront with its plethora of cafes and shops, and more.

Total price is 300 Euros (group price). There are no extra charges.
